Meanwhile, in Baltimore...
Monkeys are humans but babies in the womb are not. Liberals are insane.
The lawyers representing chimpanzees should adopt them and leave any money they make from lawsuits to the apes. Also, since unborn humans are not people, such lawyers should have no problem with state-enforced abortions to make sure that their only heirs are the primates in question.
Because let’s face it, this whole thing is about lawyers, politicians, and academics and their power over the rest of society, not about any animal rights.
By the way, the extant philosophical leader of these “progressive” movements toward euthanasia and animal rights is Peter Singer, an evil, hypocritical bastard if there ever was one.
Summary on the man (I didn’t read it, I know enough about the man’s philosophy that mentioning his name makes me sick):

A collection of his writing - lots of fodder here:

His 1979 essay on animal rights, no doubt taught to college skulls-full-of-mush everywhere today as an unattributed politically correct doctrine:

It would be more understandable to grant “chimphood” to the people bringing the suit seeking to bestow “personhood” on the chimps.
