I would never confront a driver like that because I could lose my job. If the guy tries to follow me, I go to the closest police station. If that won't work, I would stay in my car. If he gets out, I wait till he is out of his car and drive away. If that's not and option and he goes bare handed after the car, I record it with my phone. If he shows up with a tire iron or something else to bust into the car he get the first portion of my pistol mag through the glass.
Shooting a man over a stupid argument presents legal problems, but I worry more about explaining it to the Big Guy when I leave this world for the next.

The incriminating words will still be there even if the others are all gone.
If you want quicker police response, ask 911 to send the coroner because there’s about to be a body for him to pick up.
Brings back a memory from the days before cell phones, when I was between jobs and was scabbing at a union supermarket during a strike. The manager and I were the last to leave one night. There was one other car in the lot, parked at the far end in the shadows, but I saw a bit of movement inside. When I pulled out the car moved to follow me, and he did not put his lights on until he was on the road. I headed towards home, but made a couple of unnecessary turns. Sure enough, he followed me. So I simply kept driving to police headquarters and pulled in to the parking lot. He took off.
