There are few things to understand if you are forced to kill someone or in if someone is trying to kill you.

Most of the people are unaware of them but it is important to understand them.

As I said many times before, most people simply did not face real violence before. I mean killing or fighting for life. That’s good because we live in society where those things are not needed.

On the other side, from the point of survival if you did not went through serious violence before you lack that experience, you do not really know what to expect when SHTF So…

I enjoyed FURY. The breakfast scene was a bit freaky... I wondered just how these guys could go back to the “world”.

As things worked out, they didn't.

It's reversed. The bow machine gun is on the right side, and the driver's position is on the left.

Spot on. The negative [or electronic image thereof] has been *flopped.*

Also on the subject of Shermans in movies, if you ever happen to watch the first/original Blues Brother's movie, when the Illinois National Guard pulls up to the Richard Dailey Building you may note that as one Sherman traverses and elevates its main gun toward the building, the elevation is a little jerky. We were missing one of the counterweights for the main gun stabilizer, and didn't have time to rig lead weights for a substitute. Anyway, nobody was shootin' at us.

Place heavy duty mace guns where you can reach them and one place is close to the front door. The mace guns I have shoot a far distance and have a red laser to direct the spray. The spray in these guns stick wherever they hit. These guns are not your first line of defense, a regular loaded gun is, but have them for backup.

Until something along those lines can be obtained and distributed, spray oven cleaner makes a pretty fair substitute.

Spare bogy off a sheridan ?

Nope, I think that's actually a Brit SP 105 gun road wheel. The missing mounting holes are a bit odd, but it may have been a photography or mounting kludge.

“I would not want to be the scumbag that breaks into your home, Marcella.”

Let's say you tried that. My front door is hardened against kicking it in. Also, if that door moves, an alarm goes off. If you touch my front window enough to vibrate it, an alarm goes off. If you do either of those actions, you are dead cause those alarms alerted me and I turn into a killing machine with one purpose to stop you dead. I don't give a damn if you are dead.

I've written this before: When son was old enough to play in the neighborhood, I was outside and saw him running toward the house with a big dog chasing him. I immediately started running toward that dog and knew I was going to kill him with my bare hands. That dog saw me, stopped on a dime and turned around and ran. That dog knew I was going to kill him. I weighed all of about 110 lbs. at that time, but that dog saw he was going to be dead.

I had two winning medals from university, one for winning the 50 yd. dash and one for hurdles and last I knew, those scores had not been beaten over the years. I can run really, really, fast so I would have been at that dog's throat fast.

I now weigh 130 and that's not much when compared to a man, so I have to have ways to even up the battle to save my life and anyone with me. wku man, you can be at my side anytime you want ‘cause you are like me with your “Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!”

Here's an interesting tidbit of info:
My right knee was in trouble about ten years ago, so I ended up at a orthopedic surgeon's office. He sent me for an MRI on my knee. The tech had me sit in front of an MRI machine and my leg was to go into the MRI unit. She stopped and made an adjustment and said, “You must be a runner”. I asked how she knew that and she said my leg was longer from the knee down than most other people, and she had to adjust the machine for that longer part of my leg.

I am not tall, either, about 5'5”, and to me, my legs look just like other people's legs, was not aware my tibia and fibula are longer than most peoples’.

So, wku, if we are together, I'll do the running if you can't. :o)

“spray oven cleaner makes a pretty fair substitute.”

Also, oven cleaner spray, bug spray cans that shoot a long distance are a backup but the spray gun with red laser is superior to any substitute, but long distance spray oven/bug cans could be left out all the time and put in obvious places they night be needed.

What I’m saying, is, MORE is better, have them all easily available.

It's down the road a bit, I think. A few years back, Eli Lily had an insulin substitute that wastaken nasally, intended to replace injections. I understand it didn't work out.

As the Colonel said to me one day when he was not happy, Well, just how do you think we should handle this mess?

I don't think my response was either what he wanted or expected: *Sir, I figure the only way you can get out of it with your honor intact would be if you'd shoot yourself....*

The Colonel was not amused.

I'll be glad to endorse your reports with my grease pencil, and countersign in tempilstik.

This is the mindset the Israelis have about antitank weapons for their infantry. Yep, they've got outstanding tank crews, trained to the level of Olympic athletic competitors, and antitank guided missile crews that figure to pick up any strays the tankists miss.

But they know that no plan survives contact with the enemy, so each squad has an M300 antitank *bazooka* and often a couple of captured enemy RPG launchers; they've captured quite a few, in '56 and '67, '73 and '82,'92 and '96 in Lebanon and Gaza on '08,'12 and last year. So they can kill bad guy tanks, especially in the dark, up close as well.

But they do not leave it at that: they also issue the Light Antitank Weapon, and the East Bloc counterpart, the Flea [Mukha to individual riflemen, and still issue antitank rifle grenades for the launchers on the end of every Israeli M16, Galil and now the new Tavor bullpup rifle. There's even a AT grenade launcher made that screws onto the end of the old Uzi submachinegun, now mostly out of service but still around in a few police reserve and kibbutz armories. And of course the Israeli grunts are equally at home with the foot soldier's field expedients: .50 caliber ammo cans filled with C4 and fitted with a hand grenade fuze, and even the circa 1939 Finnish *Molotov Cocktail,* though they are far less effective against tanks in this day of Diesel engines.

But the point is, the Israeli grunts do not put all their antitank eggs in one basket. And as you observe, neither should we when dealing with the threats more likely to come our way in our homes...for now.

I may have been off about it being an Abbot or FV103 road wheel too. But I don't think it's from a Sherman, for sure not an M4A3E8, and I vaguely recall something Brit, and probably obsolete.

A viable technique. For me, I tend to think of the human body as a machine. What system is affected by the trauma? Sort of like a car. It helps keep the task at hand focused on. I never really had any aversion to the sight of blood.

What’s wrong with that pic? It is a mirror image of the original. As evidenced by the backwards word ‘Fury’, on the barrel of the gun.

Well ma'am, back when I had two working knees, I used to be a bit of a distance runner. Mostly 10Ks and 10-milers, but I did do a couple of half marathons. Not fast, but I always finished.

Now I know a couple of "ultra" marathoners...these guys run 110-mile races! How on Earth they do it, I can't fathom.

I figure WTSHTF, if need be I can still throw a ruck on my back and hump out of the hot zone if needed. But I'm not much for retreating, so I have some "little buddies" (.30-06, .308, .45 ACP, etc) I'll let do my running for me if things get too bad. Hopefully it won't get there, but that little tidbit of foolish hope is fading fast.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
