Liberal talker Thom Hartmann wonders: Should 'Union' forces reoccupy the South?

Liberal talker Thom Hartmann wonders if "Union" forces should re-occupy the old Confederacy.

It seems that for some on the left, the Civil War never really ended. Citing a Politico story slamming southern states, liberal talk show host Thom Hartmann wondered if the United States should "reoccupy the South with Union forces" to restart Reconstruction, Newsbusters reported Saturday.

"Now listen to this in the context of my question -- should we, a) reoccupy the South with Union forces and restart Reconstruction which came to a screeching halt in 187- whatever it was, '74 I think, the election of Rutherford B. Hayes," he said. "He needed one vote in the House of Representatives to win, it was one of those contested elections that went to the House, and the deal he made with the Southern legislators was that if he became president he would pull the Union troops out of the South and basically end Reconstruction."

His other choice was to "just" let Southern states secede from the Union. "Let the Confederate states say you can fly that flag, you can have your own country," he said.

"Just a hunch, but if a person was also inclined to crunch crime stats and unflattering demographics from major cities run by Democrats and compare them to the nation as a whole, the cities would undoubtedly 'skew' America," Newsbusters' Jack Coleman said....

Being from Iowa and now residing in Alaska I can tell you that most of the military is from the south. Bad decision lefty loser!

All the military basically comes from the south and Texas.

And Colt’s going bankrupt, Yankee arms manufacturers are moving to ‘right to work’s states (the south) and the north’s manufacturing prowess has moved south and overseas.

I think we could take them this time ... heh.

I have a better idea.

About 60% of American Blacks are currently jammed into the “Old South.”

Why don’t we pay Southern Blacks to move into affluent Democrat white neighborhoods in New England, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington state?

Remember - diversity is our strength!

Look I don’t disagree with you Crim. I was responding to a poster who said something about Lincoln finding Americans to fire on other Americans.

I was making the point that if the same war broke out today, a smart military guy realizes the pressure points.

Blow the bridges on the Mississippi, north of AR, and the Ohio, blockade the roads across WV, and Northern VA, and those cities choke quickly. When New york, Philly, Boston, DC, Pittsburgh, Chicago are burning, what’s FedGov gonna be doing?

Was in the transportation industry for 20 years, and it would scare most if they knew how food was moved across this country. It would scare them even more if they knew grocery warehouses keep about a 3 day supply.

I know food is grown in the north, but I’m talking about the cities. How could the food in the fields be moved into the cities to keep them from complete breakdown.

It’s a weakness as much as the power grid is from EMP.

Wasn’t chest thumping, and here in KY whole state is Dem.
Just making a point.

You think Canada and the UK would get involved in this Hypothetical mess?

No way. They would do what we would. Call it an internal issue, and not pick sides. They still have to trade with the winner.

But wait...its Hartmann’s beloved Democrats which ended Reconstruction...He needs to send the military to arrest Democrats since that party created the kkk, put confederate emblems up to reject its defeat and embraced jim crow.

Hmm, if our pansy government has the fortitude to deploy any forces, maybe we should start with Iran.

Of as another thought, stop the slave trade in Africa.

Maybe work on the body parts market in China or the the one Planned Parenting is operating.

I do not think there are any slaves in the South but the there are myriad other possibilities to cogitate.

Well, if there is time after much bluster about the lack of gay rights or the war against women and other BS that we have to think about all the F time.

CA’s San Joaquin valley supplies 60% of fresh produce to this country. FL, and TX could easily pick up the slack.”

I thought that the econazis had ruined much of San Joaquin valley production in order to divert water to the mud smelt.

Va, NC, and Fl are all purple. I’d say the Union is occupying the South.
From central Florida it seems you got to travel north to go down south. I'm in Spring Hill, they may as well call it NEW New York.

Louisiana and Texas control the bulk of the oil refineries in the states. Try it and in three days the big cities starve. No gas, no diesel, then no food and you liberals die. We also have the highest per capita gun ownership in the world. We also have the highest number of ex- military men, and best hunters in the world. We can hunt, we can fish, we can gut a pig, we can live off the land, and we can survive. Poor little Thom, will be crying like a little girl in a day. Yes, bring it.

It may be some off set station and only at a gas station where one of the speakers if off set near the bathrooms, but he has an audience.
