Trump’s ‘radioactive’ rhetoric
Canada Free Press ^ | 07/20/15 | Herman Cain

Posted on 07/20/2015 6:35:08 AM PDT by Sean_Anthony

No political nice speak here, and it drives the establishment insane

It started with presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigration, which drew huge criticism from the Republican establishment and the media. The unfortunate murder of Kate Steinle recently by an illegal in San Francisco quieted some of the criticism, but the debate then shifted to the legality of sanctuary cities to avoid acknowledging that there was some merit to Trump’s comments.

And now Donald Trump has challenged the “war hero” designation of Arizona Senator John McCain just because he was a prisoner of war. Aside from the fact that the media reports did not give the full context of his comments (that’s what they do), the Republican establishment and the media have quickly extended what he said to have insulted all veterans. Unfortunately for them, veteran groups are not buying the lie and have issued statements extolling the past support Mr. Trump has shown publicly and financially toward our veterans and our current military.

Critics of Mr. Trump didn’t bother to point out that Senator McCain referred to Arizona supporters of Trump as “crazies”, when nearly 15,000 attendees showed up for a Trump rally and half of them could not even get into the event. Obviously, supporting a non-establishment candidate is considered crazy. Well, crazy is looking better and better to a whole lot of people.

It’s also starting to trickle out that Democrats in the past have made comments relative to McCain “sitting out the war” as a POW and insinuating that there is nothing heroic about being taken prisoner. Al Franken and Chris Rock come to mind as examples. There were no consequences for them and one of them (Franken) was a senator when he made those remarks.

If anyone saw the video where he said it, he said it in a half joking way after explaining that McCain called Trump supporters “crazies” then he went and called McCain a hero anyway. But leave it to media to make it look like he held an official press conference standing at a podium to bash all vets just like they did with him Mexican rapist comment, twisting it as if he meant all latinos.

Wait, I am confused so maybe a Trump supporter can clear this up for us...

First, everyone is saying that Trump challenged the war hero status of McCain. Trumps supporters chirp gleefully that he said Mac wasn’t a war hero.

Yet, Trump did end up AGREEING with the other candidates in the field that McCain WAS INDEED a War hero.

So, which one is it? Does Trump think he is a war hero or not a war hero? Trumpers can’t have it both ways.

Go on, Trump people, spin away.

The reason Trump give the Republicans angst is because he’s exposing them to be the incompetent cowards that they always have been.

And the truth hurts. Especially when it’s out there for all to see.

You did it to yourselves, Republicans.

Looking at the trend of articles and the general response of conservatives everywhere I go, it seems likely that Trump’s polling will actually IMPROVE over the coming week. It’s incredible, and they all wrote Trump’s obituary a few minutes after his comments too!

THROW THE BUM OUT. McCain says his demeaning of Americans who came out in droves to support Trump...insulting them, calling them "crazies' was "meant as a term of affection.”

Yeah sure......like we believe this frickin over-the-hill GOPeer.

McCain embodies the insularity and arrogance of the GOPe.....

McC's stupidity is at mach speed if he believes Americans have not been watching as he and official DC- GOPe thumb their noses at us.

The contempt he shows for Americans will not go unrewarded.

.... while US vets get the short end of the stick.

I think those expecting Trump to sink in the polls and drop out of sight are in for a rude awakening.

I think we are going to find that most Americans already know that Trump is by nature a bit of a brash "loudmouth" and so he is inoculated from backlash. People come to expect that Trump is going to make the occasional "shocking" statement. It's who he is. Just "Trump being Trump."

This is somewhat analogous to the "bimbo eruptions" that Bill Clinton had during the 1992 election campaign. Each time another woman came forward, we thought that this would finish off Clinton for sure. But people came to realize that this was "Bill being Bill" and after a while, people stopped being shocked by it. Hell, he even got away with having sex with an intern at the White House. What other president (besides maybe JFK) could possibly have gotten away with that?

In the same way people came to accept Bill Clinton as a womanizer, people have come to accept Donald Trump as a brash loudmouth. It is who he is.

Who cares if McCain is a war hero? He’s milked it for 30+ years for all it’s worth. Too bad all our war heroes don’t get the return on it like McCain did.

War hero or not, he’s a dirtbag.

As far as Trump is concerned, I listened to comments in their entirety before coming to a conclusion.

I just want to see him in all the debates.

Notice who is missing right now.

Bush, Rubio, are unseen. This must mean they are debate prepping. (I am looking for a Reaganesk “there you go again” against Trump. I would love to see the come back to that.)

So, which conclusion is it (leave McCain out of it):

Did he say McCain was a war hero, or did he not?

Who cares? McCain is a liberal.

No. I'm not a "Trumpeter".

Just asking for some consistency from Trumpers...

I know it is hard to answer, because the answer isn’t one you all want to admit...

My simple question is DOES HE or DOES HE NOT think McCain is a hero?

There’s nothing to spin. This McCain POW mountain out of a mole hill is a non issue. Another made up MSM/GOPe sledgehammer to bash the messenger when they don’t like the message. The GOPe want Trump silenced ASAP on criminal aliens and trade because it exposes their collusion with the Dems. Anyway, anyhow Trump has to go.

Note that all the folks attacking Trump haven’t said a word about McCain repeatedly insulting conservatives and his constituents. Why is that acceptable?

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, FRiend.

Well, Trump supporters are saying “Trump is right...McCain isn’t a war hero”. Trump is the “only one not caving”...

That would be fine if it was true...

YET, Trump said that he WAS a War Hero. So, which is it?

I don’t like McCain either, but are you all so sensitive that McCain calling you names upsets you that much? Really?

Yes, there is something to spin...DOES Trump think he IS or IS NOT a war hero?

The issue here is that none of you can figure it out.
