“Edison invented the light bulb. He bought the patent from a German physicist. He then “perfected” the filament, although the filaments we use today were not invented by Edison. Oh, and he was a jerk! Tesla was THE man of the time!
Quite a neat trick by that dastardly Edison since Goebel never patented his “invention.” Of course the courts later ruled Goebel in fact didn’t produce working light bulbs prior to Edison, but what the heck.
I know, I know Edison was all a dream he really did not run test after test until he found a filament that worked. It was really his black janitor that pointed him in the right direction.
