Most of us here know the day of reckoning -- a reckoning in all respects (e.g., political; societal; religious, etc., etc.) -- is near ... but most Americans are too busy and too comfortable to do anything about it .... yet.
You mean its finally gonna be Claire Wolfe time?
and she wrote that more than 20 years ago!!
Referring to Claire Wolfe? She’s the one who said “America is at an awkward stage. Too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”
Conservatives need to leave the urban cesspools, move to small communities, get themselves elected, and BE the system where we are. IMO. So far it’s workin’ for me.
The rise of Nazi Germany saw a split in the Lutheran church. Hasn’t that already happened here, with the Episcopalian split and a few other independent churches jumping on the gay marriage bandwagon? What they won on Friday involved STATES, not churches, and certainly not Christans in general.
Seems to me, the gays cannot claim that Christians as a whole are discriminating against them, because even prior to the SCOTUS decision, apostate churches in blue states have been performing gay weddings.
Your pastor and congregation can simply point them to an apostate church. Due to differences in rituals, gays cannot demand an Orthodox Church to accommodate them, any more than Catholics could bop into a baptist church and demand the Rosary.
Too, the elimination of tax exempt status would apply to all churches, not just orthodox, wouldn’t it? Why would the pro-gay churches support this? It would come back to bite them in the ass.
Divine protection is about all we can muster at the moment.
Well pit and good for you!
Rorschach, the real hero of the Watchmen.
How do we rally, where do we rally, when do we rally?
Logistics, Communication, Coordination.
I’ve spent hours now listening and reading o Pastors responses regarding Scotus’s decision on marriage, and this from various denominations.
I do think that Pastors are the ones taking the lead and most intend civil disobedience to this law. It’s not a matter of choice as some say, they simply cannot obey this law and should they do so they are defying the God. So it looks like a resounding “no” is coming from ‘Christian’ pulpits, they will not be performing gay marriages and are preparing to suffer whatever consequences might be. This of course does not come from former “churches” which support this and the gay community.
I intend to stand and speak the truth. I understand some are saying the 4th of July they will carry posters where ever they going.
