Fake southern accepts is why I have never watched Forest Gump. I was afraid that The Help would have the same problem but they must have had a better voice coach. When Mr. M and I drove through the south last winter I could hear the differences between accepts in each state. I told Mr. M to let me do the talking since I spoke Mississippi, Georgian, Alabaman, Arkansas, etc. No southern accept in Florida.
ooh Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. nails on a blackboard. so many bad accents in movies to pick from. but really hate that patronizing one they - the pols - put on in black churches particularly. eeek!
