A solution in search of a problem. Very similar to the “forward assist” on the AR platform.

I completely disagree. The adjustable gas block is a very good way to tune a rifle for specific ammunition.

Forward assist was a bad idea. You can shove a malformed cartridge so far in the chamber with one that you won't get it out without a drill. I use the F.A. on my AR that has it very sparingly, and my other AR doesn't have one.

Adjustable gas block does do some good, and no harm if adjusted properly.

I’m hoping it solves the problem of excessive back pressure associated with suppressors. The ability to reduce felt recoil in a .308 AR10 will be nice too.
