I live outside of Houston near the Energy Corridor and I can attest to the fact that this area is probably more diverse than NYC. Is is very common to hear four of five languages when at the grocery store. I have a neighbor from Great Britain, then around the corner are Nigerians (and yes, even with a HUGE home they are scum), several from the Middle East and another neighbor from southeast Asia. Of course many of my neighbors are Americans from a variety of backgrounds, but the accents or languages I hear daily tell me many are from other parts of the world.
