When I made Cadillac parts here in Michigan they were shipped to Livonia where they were used to assemble Cadillacs along with major parts from Canada and Mexico. Minor parts like electronics came from a half dozen other nations.
Its true of pretty much all cars. My factory made parts for Ford, Toyota, Chrysler etc and shipped them all over the world.
It’s not the “corporate tax rate “ that drives corporations to move jobs our of the U.S. it’s the cost of labor.
If workers in the U.S. would work for third-world wages, the jobs would stay here.
I wonder if the pillow biter who wrote this screed knows how much the tariff Japan and China charges on every car we ship over there? The last I checked China charges 30% per vehicle but they may have changed. I could have gone down, or up, it is so hard to get this information. The masses don’t need to know, it is all done in secret.
Factories move overseas to enjoy much lower labor costs. corporate income tax is still paid wherever the cars are made.

Trump’s 35% tax would be if Ford kept the manufacturing and the jobs in Mexico, not if they had the manufacturing and jobs in the U.S..
For the VERY SHORT ATTENTION SPAN idiot journalist - he said he'd charge a 35% tax on new cars built at the proposed plant in MEXICO, because Ford is building it there, rather than Tennessee.
If Ford wants to build a factory in Communist China, in employ communist workers, they can pay a sin tax. Hell yeah. If they want to employ Americans, and build factories in America then lower their taxes. Hell yeah.
This is the Country that almost HALF A CENTURY AGO, PUT AMERICAN MEN ON THE MOON.....something the entire world combined hasn’t been able to do since then ....not even ONCE! AND WE DID IT TEN TIMES....plus 2 SUVs. .....and when we did it we weren’t building our cars in Mexico or China
