We now have “hate crimes” so we are not far from “thought crimes” are we? After all how do you determine “hate”? Hmmmm?

"Hate crimes" are "thought crimes." Always have been. That's why they should be declared unconstitutional as violations of the 1st Amendment.

Hate crimes ARE thought crimes, literally. They are separate criminal charges for the thought process that took place during an act.
