I doubt it was by chance, but perhaps not in the same way you're thinking. Over the many years and many operations in Afghanistan, routes of ingress and egress have been developed to reach certain areas. The enemy develops their own system of intel, determines this, and sets a trap. It really can be that simple.

Huldah, I firmly believe that one of the SEALs on Extortion 17 was a Freeper. He was not on the mission that took down OBL, but he was a member of the Team.
I’d love to know if anyone else has further information to corroborate.
On Memorial Day an anonymous Freeper should be remembered. I wish the Freeper community could do that.

To me, it’s no coincidence that obama and his ventriloquist dummy biden were so quick to finger SEAL Team 6 as the Bin Laden operators, and the subsequent assassination of the Team’s members in Extortion 17. What is unknown is the payoff to the Bergen/McCarthy dynamic duo in the WH after the successful retaliation that, in my opinion, they helped set up.
