Twelve years old. Called "of tender years," I believe, in law, when children are not quite accountable for what the do.

On the same subject for those interested, over in Religion Forum: Wisdom Cries Out...On Stoning The Duggars

Duggar is not a perfect soul. Neither am I. Neither are you.

Yeah, but I’m perfect enough not to rape children.

There will be distortions.

And whitewashing. Like this article.

Kids looking at each other's privates and touching is one thing.

A teenager fondling his pre-school aged sister is disturbing and that people are defending him at all is astounding.

I wonder hiw the original poster knows that “his family is past it”. Particularly his sisters that he violated multiple times. Have they expressed that they are “past it”?? (And for the poster who said he did nothing more than “cop a feel”, read the police report.)

Quit acting like Josh Duggar is the victim or that his parents are the victims. He molested his sisters and another young woman multiple times. THEY are the victims!

I see that TV remains a cesspool. Cable will not be reconnected after its 20 hiatus anytime soon.

Josh Duggar publicly confessed that accusations of his being investigated for child abuse 12 years ago are true.

Funny thing how people "confess" only after someone else blows the whistle on them.

I’m an imperfect person and Christian who has done some bad things in the past. I know Christ forgave them. I know, if Duggar is a Christian, that Christ forgave him....BUT this is a perfect example of another sin....the sin of pride. The Duggars sought fame. Fame is the devils playground. Once you start playing with his monkey bars it’s only a matter of time until you fall off.

Let’s state the obvious:

We don’t know whether he is truly Saved or not. There is no way to know that about someone.
We don’t know whether he truly confessed his sin and asked for forgiveness. There is no way to know that about someone.
We don’t know if there are other victims.

All we know is what he did. He had to resign from a position when his deed left the darkness and came into the light. The Duggars took the place of honor at the “banquet” and had to be moved to a lesser place.
It’s amazing how right the Bible can be.

It’s not a matter of celebration, far from it.

It is what some have expected; that the skeletons would start coming out of the closet at some point.

Despite the portrayals as the perfect, Christian family there is no such thing. Many became invested in the family as a shining example of Christian family values and anytime you follow that mindset you will eventually be disappointed regardless of how closely the family follow those values. As others have pointed out; everyone including them are human and will sin.

The telling will be how they handle the situation now that it has come out. So far, I don’t believe they have handled this too well.

Thanks for posting this......I happen to agree.

However, your thread will be torn apart......they are waiting in the wings to pounce.
Good luck!

Using prepubescent children for your sexual gratification is sick and NOT EVERY 14 YEAR OLD BOY DOES IT. Sex crimes against children are so heinous and ruin lives so horribly that I’d vote for death penalty for anyone convicted of multiple offenses (two or more). I don’t care if the molester is famous (Woody Allen and this Duggar guy).

Molesters USE THEIR ROLE IN SOCIETY to get more access to kids to molest. Who cares what religion they either believè or just cloak themselves in??? Evil knows no one cloak.

I haven’t read all the comments but any FReepers supporting this man are just dead wrong. Most pedophiles get worse over time, not better. There is a huge difference between sexual interplay between two young people of roughly the same age and PREDATORY behavior on the helpless. Ask Bill Cosby.

The Duggars are great people, however as humans, they aren't perfect. GOD will judge them, and the one perfect human was crucified. Josh, as a teen, you were a teen. As Jesus said, "Those without sin, shall cast the first stone."

Whoever didn't do anything stupid as a teen, you should be nominated for sainthood.

Wow. I’m seeing a lot of outrage and protectiveness over the perp, but very little for those innocent girls.

Lots of teens experiment at that age...with someone other than a sibling. That is the tragedy here. He molested his own sisters and they’ll have to bear the scars for the rest of their lives.

I'm not celebrating this. I didn't watch the show and don't have attachments to "reality" TV characters that present one side of a person.

The bottom line is that people make decisions. The number one poor decision (not a mistake, decision) of the Duggar parents was not keeping Josh away from little girls. That failed to protect their family.

BTW - A 14 year old isn't some 4 year old playing doctor. 14 is high school age. There are many 14 year olds 6' tall and over 150 pounds. A 14 year old male knows that it is wrong to fondle little girls, especially inside the family.

The sad thing is that many people are defending this because they like the TV show and think that they are how they portray themselves on TV and think that's real life. They are outspoken Christians, so that makes it alright? No it doesn't. If these were Catholic priests, would you have the same opinions?

“I had the pleasure of meeting Josh Duggar not even two months ago. I found him to be humble, well-spoken, polite and quite real. “

Ted Bundy was a charmer, too.

“Duggar admitted what happened and now it’s your turn to deal with it. He’s already past it. His wife is past it. His family is past it.”

Really? I want to hear that FROM THE DUGGAR GIRLS THIS MONSTER MOLESTED.

I doubt we’ll see him on the show anymore, which is very, very sad.

Why sad?

You get off on watching perverts?

Or writing blogs about them?
