I assume the man was over 21 years old, can`t he go where he wants as long as it is not illegal and since some one had him down he must have not been the only one who got violent.

Some abortion clinics also give out birth control pills, do pap smears and the like. It is quite possible she was going for simple birth control. She was not in long enough for an actual abortion, at least that trip anyway. I suspect maybe she was coming for birth control.
