Enough…I’m tired and you should damn well be too

I think back on the days of my childhood, days when all the kids in the neighborhood I lived in would get together for a game of stickball. All colors, all nationalities, everyone would play. Some better than others, but everyone would play until our mothers called us home at dark for dinner. The only break would come when the ice cream truck came by, and if someone didn’t have the dime for ice cream, someone else would buy it for them.

Times have changed, but the basic principles of how I was brought up have stuck with me. It doesn’t make for a tranquil way of life these days. There is a choice which must be made by every one of our citizens. Do we keep those old values, or do we toss them to the side for a more modern way of living our lives?

I’m tired of partisan politics, of politicians working only to line their pockets and those of family and friends. I’m tired of election promises never kept and the lying that has somehow become an accepted part of their everyday lives.

I am tired of state and federal masters who believe they have the authority to decide what I may say or do, whether I am allowed to carry a gun or favor Christianity over Islam. I am tired of the “It Takes a Village” mindset which claims special insight in what our children should learn and how they must be taught.

I am tired of a federal government that shatters the Constitution and Bill of Rights to protect us from ourselves. I am tired of regulations that cost money, jobs and cause damage to the country in order that...

I got those old white guy blues
From my head down to my shoes
Seems like this just ain't my time.

You say I took your stuff
Now you ain't got enough
Not even one thin dime.

You say This Old White Guy's to blame
I should live each day in shame
I don't deserve anything I got.

But you living like a bum
And must me really dumb
You think you're down just because I'm up .

Well Old White Guy is my name
You say “White Privilege” is my game
Call me Racist when I was just an embryo.

And that gives you every right
To hate me just cause I'm white
Every little place I go.

So when you see me on the bus
Your pants down on the butt
Tell me how I am such a disgrace.

When you see me on the street
We don’t have time to greet
Gotta have that “Conversation” about race.

Well Old White Guy's had enough
Go buy your own stuff
Get up off your lazy ass.

If you come for what I got
Yer likely to get shot
End up fertilizing my grass.

Got those Old White Guy Blues
Its everywhere in the news
every breath I take is a micro-aggression.

And I know it wont make you smile
I plan to stay for a while
Cause I Got to vote in the next election!

Lots of folks are tired of it all - the trick is to dig deep and find the energy to do something instead of just whining about it - that just makes one a tired whiner....
