Colleges just won’t take responsibility for teaching their child-like students how to act in public

Is there any sanity or decency left on our college campuses? Isn’t there one of these fake “intuitions of higher learning” where the adults who draw a paycheck for running them feel an obligation to blow a whistle, stop the recess and correct the children whose parents are supporting both of them?

It’s difficult to find a college where the foolishness of its poorly educated students is discouraged let alone stopped. The people running some of our biggest and most influential colleges and universities have stepped aside and walked away from their OBLIGATION to teach.

When I taught at the college level for sixteen years, I considered it a responsibility to teach my students everything I knew about everything. They were inexperienced and just entering the world outside of mom’s basement and needed to know how to be productive in the adult world.

Apparently that responsibility has faded away in the minds of the fakes teaching today. They stand aside and cheer on the stupid stuff and fads on their campus and never feel a responsibility to stand up and correct what is going on. A handy example of this is the acceptance of this foolishness of “microaggression.”

“Microaggression” is so nebulous as to have no meaning except that which is assigned by children masquerading as...

If the “kids” don’t know how to act in public by the time they get to college, it’s certainly not the college’s fault.

How did we win World War II?

By making sure it was over before 1969.

Microaggression is simply the word they use for whiteness.

It started with a Declaration of War (how quaint), and then it was all in for the duration.

I don’t think a lot of people realize that Germany declared war on us after we declared war on Japan, making President Roosevelt’s job that much easier.

No, it’s the parents who had 18 years to teach their special little snowflakes how to behave in public. For high tuition costs, colleges aren’t supposed to be remedial education.

two words: homeschooled kids.

we taught our children how to behave in public (most of us did anyway) while the others sat and stared at the clock for 6-8 hours a day

The whole social presumption that everyone has the “right” to not be “offended” is stupid to begin with. If someone wants to be offended in their delicate little mind, they can always be offended, and there is nothing the rest of us can do about it. (Here’s a free tissue—go off in the corner and have a good cry—then you might feel better.) (sarc)

I was blessed with being in one of the last classes that had old school professors and instructors. Then again I majored in engineering and manufacturing. But we didn’t even have the Berzerkely trained babies in humanities. (Then again what self respecting berzerkelyite would move to Fresno? I can’t imagine a single one of my teachers tolerating this microagression and racist nonsense at college. There were a few libs but not as rabid as they are now.

Colleges are teaching kids that they have the right to throw a tantrum when someone expresses a contrary opinion to their own, and that their hurt feelings trump the other person’s rights to speech, association and belief.

And not only do they think they have the right to shut down debate via temper tantrums, but they then see it as their right to interject in any gathering of those who have contrary views and disrupt those events, too.

SJW are the new Muslims, seeing disagreement is an attack on themselves, neither tolerating non-believers in public without humiliation and constantly attacking their alternative groups.

This picture could easily apply to college graduates as well.

If I were paying $40k per year to send my kid to college, the last thing I am going to pay for is etiquette lessons. I took care of that myself. My kids are polite, grateful, they show up and they are prepared.

If the college needs to teach that on my dime...I want a refund.
