Students at Arizona State University are petitioning the college to drop the name of walk-only zones, claiming the word walk is both offensive and ableist.
Walk-only zones on ASU, according to the campus website, prohibits cars, bikes, and motorcycles from using the path. The name, however, has a number of students upset.
Some ASU students have taken offense to the term and have posted their grievances online and have started a petition.
ASU is one of the largest universities in the United States and is a place of work, learning, and leisure to over 75,000 people on campus, the petition begins. Enforcing Walk Only zones onto campus property marginalizes disabled bodies who cannot walk.
The title of the petition is named Change the name to Pedestrian Only or any other inclusive title. Asking to change the zones to Pedestrian Only, however, is an extremely odd request, because pedestrian comes from the Latin word pedester, which means someone is literally on foot walking.

fyi..I'm a below elbow amputee.. so technically I'm the only type of handicap that is handicapped (hand decapitated).
The thing is I don't take a handicap placard because I always considered it for people in wheelchairs and disabled but if you want to get technical about words then i guess i should get offended by people in wheelchairs in my handicapped parking space
“The title of the petition is named Change the name to Pedestrian Only”
“Pedestrian” means “goes on foot”, aka “walking”. Idiots.
Yes, obviously!
I cannot remember the man who said “you can’t fix stupid” but he nailed it didn’t he?
Whatever happened to the description of college professors as being Ivory Tower Idiots? Most of these professors teach because if they had to get a job in the private sector real world they would not make it. They'd be fired in a heartbeat.
And we pay huge sums of money in tuition to allow these people to indoctrinate our kids into believing this liberal drivel they spout at students in colleges and universities (and high schools in many cases) nowadays.
Ableists? Who made that up? The same people who came up with "microaggression" I suppose. Too much time on their hands and not enough to do.
They can’t reason or write a sentence that parses but for their masters, the Marxists, they can, like useful idiots protest and multiply .
What you said.
How utterly pathetic what we (they) have become. A nation of wimpy sissies who are offended as easily as a toddler in a sandbox.
A wakeup call is coming and many Americans are going to wonder why the hell they were worrying and wasting their time about the Red Skins or Walk-Only zones when they are having to go underground to keep from getting killed by 7th century barbarians...
I say bring back the draft, and bring back the drill instructors of the 1950’s and 1960’s.
We’ll see if the DI’s put up with any bullcrap from these punks.
To much coddling by parents.
Anyone who pays and persists will get his “degree”.
The one saving grace to all this is when the collapse finally happens these ninnies will be the first ones killed and eaten.
Mods: Please delete this post. It's patently offensive.
The next generation cannot be capable of serious leadership with little minds like this. Our enemies observe thimgs like this and make conclusions about our ability to muster the courage to defend ourselves. Implementing Sharia law will be a cakewalk when these graduates join the judiciary in a few years.
As ridiculous as these isolated kooky incidents seem, taken together one must conclude the nation is in grave peril.
yep, they’ll be roasting over an open fire, jackfrost no longer nipping at their nose.... mulsim chants cuddled up near the fire and buggery under the mistletoe...
AHHHHH what a life! These Arizona State U. students are really really going to enjoy it :)
the nation is already lost. nothing we can do. we could win the next thirty years of elections, judiciary, etc. but we hvae already lost the educational and entertainment industries where the true power lies. And it cannot be undone. The only way to stop that would be making a crater out of los angeles - which the chinese or norks might do anyway. Bizzarro world - either wireless signals or all the lead from these cheap chinese products have made everyone insane over the last twenty years. Only solid explanation.
Yep, the DI won’t put up with this crap.
Off topic, but, I’ve heard many men say how their military service gave them discipline and purpose, and how they learned many life lessons from military service.
Back in the ‘50s and ‘60s, more than half of all young men in America were drafted at some point, from what I heard. Meaning that for significant numbers of men in those days, military service was a common denominator. Nowadays, only a small minority ever end up serving.
Can we instill discipline and work ethic and all that without bringing back the draft? Can we change school curricula to do something along these lines???
I wonder about the future of our country . This story about people being upset about “walk” zones because it’s offensive to someone in a wheelchair is so absurd on its face, yet this is the reasoning and thinking of too many nowadays.

Find student 0. Then once found, research the background of that student. You will find that she is somehow connected with someone in CPUSA who put this in her head.
Why her? Because boys don’t have the mental capacity to think of these things. They go along with it for the sex.
Overprotective parents created this insanity. Children are not taught how to endure instead they are protected from challenging situations.
