That’s ok. He and his cellmate Big Bubba can spend years together.

I'm not arguing against the amnesia seeming a bit suspicious--it does to me, too. As for a train hurtling along at 100 mph+, yeah, that'd be something you'd think he'd notice, too. And if he was watching signals and limits, you'd think he'd have been aware long before he got to the turn he was going too fast.

Sure, it stinks.

Now, let's see if the NTSB folks can peel it apart--especially in light of him bugging out.

Common tactics for DUI hit and runs are to leave the scene, on foot, if possible/necessary, and hide out until all the metabolites and alcohol are out of their system. It also gives an opportunity to ditch any illicit substances they might have on their person.

Lawyering up, under the circumstances, is one thing anyone would do, but implies he didn't forget he might be held civilly or criminally liable for the wreck.

Cell phone records might be worth a look, too.

"I don't remember" sure could be a convenient way to keep from providing the little details that trip up a story full of lies.

The question is one of if the interrogators are sharper than the scam, provided there is one.

In the meantime, they avoid the whole persecution thingy the rainbow flag set likes to wave around--which may or may not have any relevance to the wreck at all.

I was listening to the radio last night and they made much of his multiple injuries, pins in the his legs and things like that. Trying to ramp up the sympathy for him.

On Mark Levin last night, lots of engineer-type people called in and all noted that everyone knows about that curve and knows to slow down, and the worst thing he could have done as pull the emergency brake. I don’t remember the kind of advice they gave, but it was kind of like what you do when your car starts sliding on ice.

Amtrak does not run freight trains so that path is not available.

Amtrak does not run freight trains, but other companies do. People DO jump from company to company. Then again, if there's a pension involved, switching companies might be hard.

It happens pretty commonly with auto accidents: "Leaving the scene" and is often done to get time to get drugs/alcohol out of the operator's system before they can be found and tested, or to permit the operator to ditch incriminating substances or weapons.

Fine example: Edward M.(Ted) Kennedy- (D-HELL)

Why was the train going 106 mph there??

and

Why did it take so long for the engineer to hit the brakes?

Amtrak operates a nationwide rail network, serving more than 500 destinations in 46 states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian provinces on more than 21,300 miles of routes, with more than 20,000 employees. It is the nation’s only high speed intercity passenger rail provider, operating at a top speed of 150 mph (241 kph). More than half of its trains operate at top speeds of 100 mph (160 kph) or greater.

They always just seem to have “that look” don’t they? No guesswork required...

I think "gaydar" is more essential for normal people to have than for other sodomites.

...he had no recollection of the crash or what he was doing. How convenient. That is his best defense for being accused of anything.

Not surprising, considering the Gaystapo's reaction to the AIDS epidemic that they willfully causes and exacerbated.

Many have said on this thread that his being gay has nothing to do with what happened. So far that is completely true.

But now I see stories immediately popping up building up Brandon Bostian’s image. Brandon Bostian who was the engineer driving the train is now portrayed as the dedicated train conductor who loved to play with toy trains as a kid and this was all he ever wanted to do. Are you kidding me? They do not know the facts yet and they are building him up? Why?

http://www.wsj.com/articles/amtrak-engineer-brandon-bostian-loved-driving-trains-1431627406

If you know anything about media stories they do not appear on anything by accident. Within days of the accident we are now reading about how this guy is so totally dedicated practically an angel in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This tells me there is something really fishy about all this. Why are they protecting him like this?

Wonder why you shouldn’t pull the brake then, & did he know that? Sounds like he was a bad engineer, who shouldn’t have been doing that job.

It has now been determined that the train ACCELERATED from 70 to over 100 mph just before reaching the curve. It was much worse than just not braking. This is sounding more and more like the German air crash.

Reports today are that investigators found that the operator sped up the train from 70 mph to over 100 mph one minute prior to entering the curve.

I personalty believe more now that this was a suicide attempt.

Amtrak Train Was Gaining Speed as It Approached Curve: NTSB
By M. Alex Johnson

Sumwalt said investigators had been able to piece together a timeline of the moments leading up to the derailment based on the train’s track image recorder, which is at the front of the locomotive.

One minute and five seconds before the recording ends, the train was traveling at 70 mph — and then it sped up, he said:

At 43 seconds before the recording ends, the train was up to 80 mph.

Twelve seconds later, it hit 90 mph.

And 15 seconds after that, it topped 100 mph, before engineer Brandon Bostian engaged the emergency brake.

“Mere seconds into the turn, we could see the train tilting approximately 10 degrees to the right and then the recording went blank,” Sumwalt said.

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/amtrak-crash/amtrak-crash-train-was-gaining-speed-it-approached-curve-n359191

“Eight people were killed and over 200 were injured when Northeast Regional 188 derailed shortly after leaving Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station bound for New York. The National Transportation Safety Board revealed Thursday that the train had sped up from 70 mph until it reached more than 100 mph at a sharp bend where the maximum speed is supposed to be 50 mph.”

Obviously this guy had no concern at all for his fellow passengers and what it would do to their families. I’d say Capital Murder with a capital C. This one walks the line only because we don’t know the true state of his mind yet (bet the text messages and forensic computer examination will provide a lot of insight tho) It was a very selfish act without any thought given to the consequences and devastation it would cause for thousands of people connected to the people who died. No doubt a liberal Obama worshipping homonazi...

1. He’s in one of the protected classes so designated by the POTUS
2. PR by the railroad and attorney to minimize his role in the “accident” to protect their image and hopefully get him off the charges

I think his being gay could definitely have been a factor as homosexuals seem to have a tendency to be more suicidal and touchy-feely due to their lifestyle. His feelings about the lifestyle and ensuing problems that come from it could have been the catalyst that made him want to commit suicide...i’m guessing relationship problems...

Today I look at Drudge and there is a story about how he loved toy trains and was an all around good guy. Someone is building hi image here. This is deliberate!

Needs cup holders so you don't spill your drink, short-out the throttle controls and cause the train to accelerate.
