Reese Witherspoon to star in astronaut drama based on the Lisa Nowak story
Houston Movie Examiner ^ | May 13, 2015 | Mark R. Whittington

The Hollywood Reporter revealed Tuesday that Reese Witherspoon has been cast into the leading role of a new drama called “The Pale Blue Dot” in which she plays a female astronaut whose life spirals out of control after returning from a space mission. She begins an affair with a fellow astronaut and soon finds herself in a love triangle. The story seems to be not so loosely based on the incident in which real life astronaut Lisa Nowak who drove nonstop between Houston and Orlando wearing an adult diaper and disguised in a trench coat and sunglasses to confront a love rival, whereupon she assaulted her with pepper spray. She was later sentenced to probation and was separated from the Navy at a reduced rank.

I wonder if she just wants to wear adult diapers.

There is absolutely no redeeming value to a movie about this, whatsoever.

I mean at best it’s a Lifetime movie.

Hollywood, and by extension people, should leave this woman alone! I’m just being fair, not rational here. I normally would not cut an 0-6 Navy woman any slack, but I’m sorry, my Navy, my profession (writing), and my country should just walk away from this personal tragedy. Wasting time, money and a commitment to fair play should be our watchword here. And with that, I’ll finish my “black label” and hit the sack!

Wearing the adult diaper is what you do when you begrudge the time it takes to stop at a rest area and pee.

You could say the same thing about Fatal Attraction. Maybe in this one the kids' rabbit will be boiled on board the Space Station.

LOL, I just use a jug...but being a man...that works for ME.

I would have to have a serious, SERIOUS mission involving 12 hour stretches with no stops to consider the Depends thing...

I think it was a pretty sad and sordid affair, but...that makes it perfect fodder for Hollywood.

Lighten up. Who among us hasn't put on a diaper and driven half way across the country to attack a rival with pepper spray?

It made for good late-night jokes, but really a sad story.

Another day, another actor pretending to be someone else ... and getting attention and fame for doing so.

I so don't get the world I'm living in. Endless entertainment and celebrity worship is contributing to the death of this country.

I suppose for the same reason she wanted to play a drug addled skank who walked in the woods to find herself.

I can only see this production as a way to give NASA and the U.S. Navy a black eye. The people, our astronauts at one time were every kids hero. They want to take a tragedy and make sport of it. These types of movies are only used for propaganda. That’s all they and most of the media do anymore. I don’t do these types of movies anyhow so I’m definitely not watching it. Semper Fi

No doubt. If the man isn’t bad, they aren’t showing it on Lifetime.

Not having to stop for breaks would limit the opportunity for witnesses or cameras to see you. Not just a time thing. Although nowadays I imagine they could just review the highway cameras and pick out her car.

"When I created this it tracked fine. Is it working ok on yours?"

There's really no point in trying to have a conversation with "Marcus."

He hasn't responded to anyone in six years.

Looks like he's only here to pimp stuff. http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/by:marcus/index?tab=comments;brevity=full;options=no-change
