“...Congress would hijack the entire process, the MSM would fully support their interpretation...”
One thing to consider — Which 38 states would ratify bat-poop-crazy liberal amendments -vs- which 38 states would ratify proposed amendments for a balanced budget, term limits (congress, SCOTUS), reinforcement of the 2nd amendment, etc?
I don’t really care what crazy amendments may be proposed along with sane, reasonable, responsible amendments because regardless of what they *propose*, nothing takes effect until 38 states ratify it. And when it comes to ratifying, it does not matter how big CA and NY are, even the smallest republican state legislature has an equal vote.
Unless my understanding of the ratification process is incorrect...
The President and both houses of Congress ignore and circumvent the Constitution now. Adding ammendments to it is not going to restore the Republic.
> “Less than 2% of the population is controlling the homosexual agenda in 85% of the statehouses. “
Not through the statehouses, through the courts.
Should the federal government ignore ratified amendments put forth by a Convention of States, then the States can simply follow their own ratified amendments as the law of the land.
Following on this scenario, the States could also repeal the 16th and 17th as well as pass a new amendment that term limits US Senators, Supreme Court Justices AND overrides any federal government decision, statute, policy upon say 3/5’s of States voting to so override.
In other words, the States can take back all the power and a rebellious federal government can-do-not-a-thing about it.
Your understanding is correct.
Liberal progressives and moderates have been writing these kinds of scarecrow opinions with increasing frequency in the last two years as Conservatives have gained an overwhelming majority in state legislatures.
The type of rantings shown here in the Washington Post are typical and reveal just how scared they are of threats to their fiefdoms inside the Beltway.
As the Article V movement picks up steam, there will be more and more of these inane and misleading rantings through the liberal press outlets.
Do have a look at participating here:

Expect the Establishment to condemn any attempt to decentralize power from their chosen lackeys.
It's not the "gridlock" they're frustrated with.
Well, then there is nothing to fear from a state convention to propose amendments.
Congress already has the power to propose amendments. If your theory was correct why are they not doing this already? In point of fact the Constitution is being revised all the time by the whim of black robed statist stooges. The shear number of such stooges increased dramatically under Obama after Reid used the nuclear option to cram a bunch of them into the system. Due to the invading Rat hordes and these Anti-Constitution judges already in the system we need a way, more than ever , to blunt their input.
