He took his mother’s last name babbling about how he felt closer to his Italian roots. The real reason was to appeal to a large ethnic group in New York. As if more than 5 percent of Americans of Italian descent on Staten Island would vote for him. It’s nice to have Italian heritage, but I would NEVER vote for Cuomo or Deblahblahblah or Peloser. That Rudy happened to be of Italian descent was a bonus :) I know he is not loved on this board by my goodness he would have been scores above he who shall not be named. And I LOVED when he told a class of black students asking how they were going to afford college to get a job.
