The coalition holds the state responsible for Detroits financial woes going back to 1999 . . . . when Gov. John Engler signed legislation transferring control of Detroit schools to the Detroit mayor. LOL. I guess the state is responsible for being foolish enough to think that the city could manage its money properly.

Nothing that more privatization and charters can’t fix. As it is, Detroit parents are sending their kids to charters at an ever increasing rate. They know the traditional public schools aren’t working.

What?!?!
They didn’t blame it on the Evil Republicans???
Well, now that I think of it, there hasn’t been a Republican seen in Detroit in 50 years (at least).
Never mind...

The State should tell the Coalition; No!
