Here’s my question to the NRA: Where in the heck is “sporting purposes” found in the 2nd Amendment *AND* why are they not working 24/7, full speed ahead on repealing the GCA/NFA?

And before they start their whining and sputtering that “that’s too big of a bite”, Those traitors can shut the heck up and GTFO if they can’t explain why a perfectly legal item in my state (suppressors, SBS, SBR, etc) can not be had until I pay Uncle Sam $200 tax, fill out a bunch of paperwork and wait 9 months (last time) — per each freakin’ item!!

I have *zero* use for those sand-bagging, lying game-players at the NRA. They are about as useful as the GOP as far as I’m concerned. And if they tell you some made-up story about how they are “protecting” gun rights, tell them the only thing they protect is their income stream. Those back room deals are engineered to keep the rubes on the hook to keep tossing money to the NRA. They want to eliminate the threat to your right to keep and bear arms like Jesse and Al want to end racism. You can take that to the bank!

Dangit, don’t get me started on those hucksters...

looking at some of ATF’s warped rulings, like this one:

ATF Rul. 95-3
[Status of ruling: Active]
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has examined various 37/38 mm gas/flare guns in combination with certain types of ammunition to determine whether these are destructive devices as defined in the Gun Control Act (GCA), 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, and the National Firearms Act (NFA), 26 U.S.C. Chapter 53.
Section 5845(f), Title 26, United States Code, classifies certain weapons as “destructive devices” which are subject to the registration and tax provisions of the National Firearms Act (NFA).

Section 5845(f)(2) provides as follows:
(f) Destructive device.—The term “destructive device” means * * * (2) any type of weapon by whatever name known which will, or which may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or other propellant, the barrel or barrels of which have a bore of more than one-half inch in diameter, except a shotgun or shotgun shell which the Secretary or his delegate finds is generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes; . . .”

It looks like all the old British 577, 600, and 700 nitro express rifles, since they are over .500” and not shotguns, are destructive devices.

And don’t take the stock off your shotgun and replace it with a pistol grip. Since now to be a shotgun, it must have a shoulder stock. Otherwise, it too is a destructive device.

And what about those .69 caliber muzzleloaders? I guess they’re destructive devices too.
