I did not acquit him, I explored possibilities. You really are stupid and a waste of time

Ditto.

Due diligence would be reading the reports posted at your source and seeing no mention of Slager being tasered.

And I will say it again....blood is thicker than water...and blue is thicker than blood.

Well here’s a test for you — where did you get the idea Slager may have been tasered, genius?

I agree that Slager didn’t get tased. But apparently Scott did fight with him and seems to have taken the taser from him. That is what reframes the situation. If you’re willing to do that, you’re a potential threat to other people. I don’t know if it fully justifies what Slager did, but it muddies things up enough that I’ll be surprised if the murder charge sticks.

Here is a prediction. Officer gets negligent homicide or less and probation or walks. Family gets less than $1 million.

Looks really tough for the officer to meet that requirement.

Face to face, with a struggle over the taser and it would be a legal shoot. There is plenty of precedence for officers firing in self defense in those cases. In this case he basically will have to justify that the suspects actions (still unknown motivation) indicate he will likely pose a threat of serious injury to the next officer he meets. There is a big difference between running and fighting, and tome thing happened for a couple minutes before the shots were fired.

One of the negatives to Garner v. TN is that it was a judgement on a negative finding that was way out of the range of their ruling. This shooting isn't like Garner, because there was a physical confrontation.

My guess is that if the officer has liability insurance the family gets a $1 million settlement. If he doesn’t he is screwed because just his legal defense will crush him.

I can’t seem to locate officer Slager’s action report. There are a few others, but not from anyone present when things hit the fan.

Can somebody hook me up with a link?

If that policy were in place, yes. It should be at the discretion of the officer.

Then why did the cop move the taser and drop it near the body. That is evidence that he knew it was a bad shoot.

It will be interesting after the dust settles if the Officer did have an aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon (tazers can kill) perpetrated on him, if the fleeing felon rule would justify the shooting.

Why doesnt the report (from your own source) make any mention of slager being tasered?

Is that something you simply leave off a police report?

So if someone shoots at me turns and runs I can’t be in fear of my life that he may stop turn and shoot at me again ?..

What is this the new I’m invisible rule?...i can shoot at you all day long... but don’t need to take cover for return fire.... I just turned around after shooting at you?.. and I’m safe.... I become invisible... crap that’s better than body armor you can not touch me....

guess that’s why gangbangers do “drive bys” cuz once they shoot, then start to “drive by” there safe and no one return fire

how about I just stand with my back to you and shoot blindly behind while running... me how does that count?

But an unarmed person can break in my house I can shoot..what if I break in walking backwards

do I have to have a gun or no, I don’t need a gun but it doesn’t matter if I have a gun I’m trying to understand your rules here....what about knives?...do knives count and then we can get on Tasers

It not “back to you im now safe” once you use a weppon on me and showing you have hostile intent towards me “it stop..and hands up and empty to see you no longer have a weppon”

because if I’m pursuing you I need to see and know you’re not going to turn again and use that weapon I got to see you don’t have it and you’re no longer a threat if you stop and turn or i catch you..

you already shown you had a weapon you’ve already shown your intent now you need to show me you no longer have a weapon and you no longer have intent

and I’m not even talking specials for cops I’m talking civilian on civilian ...

So in other words no requirement that there be a threat to the life or safety of the officer or anyone around? Anything but complete and total compliance is reason to kill?

*points to your thread title*

“Game Changer? Enhanced Video Shows Officer Slager With Taser Darts in Chest, Leg; Wires Everywhere,”

That is clearly what you were trying to imply.....are you going to try and back out of it now?

Dear say, what the heck has that to do with this thread?

No one in their right mind wants to go to either a socialist or libertarian government. Get real.

There was nobody else around so who was he a potential threat too?

Murder is wrong. If the facts that are coming out that this person did indeed assault the cop, then his shooting was not murder.

No what speaks for it self you your lame attemt to excuse Slager by implication that he ended up with taser darts in him in with out getting tasered......even though none of the other officers put that very revent fact in thier report.
