Religious Freedom & The Gay Vendetta Of Amnesia
Self | 3/31/15 | Me

Posted on 03/31/2015 11:49:40 AM PDT by xuberalles

Rabid liberals are organizing protests and boycotts against Indiana claiming the Governor's new Religious Freedom Law will discriminate against gays - not that LGBT activists are purposely trying to entrap Christian businesses into being sued and losing their livelihoods - only to have no recollection of the "bigot" who signed the national Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law in 1993: one very proud Bill Clinton! And guess who voted for it as a Illinois state senator? That's right...Barack Obama! Nineteen states have passed similar laws with the help of or at the behest of Democrats. This is how disconnected today's left has become in their quest to deify homosexuality and demonize anyone who objects to the gay agenda. They're so obsessed with fabricating impropriety, they're completely ignorant of the fact such legislation - an extension and reaffirmation of the First Amendment - allows Jews to wear Yamakas at their jobs or Muslim students to honor their religious holidays in our public schools. Is it therefore of any surprise many of these same progressive hypocrites support Sharia Law which openly discriminates against women and gays - advocating torture, mutilation or death for merely existing - but accuse Christians and Jews of hate for honoring their faith and exercising their Constitutional rights? Sadly, no. Liberals are that clueless.

For the record, these religious liberty laws do not single out gays nor do they mention them. These protections merely prevent people, organizations and businesses from being punished, i.e. for serving bacon in their own establishment, because some intolerant tool insists on forcing their views down freedom's throat rather than respecting the beliefs of others. Yes, going to another restaurant that meets your standards would just be too difficult! An adopted boy has no recourse against his two moms or dads for mental anguish or forced emasculation, but it's OK to sue McDonald's because they serve meat on Sabbath or an employee says God Bless after you sneeze? There is a stark contrast between discrimination and engineered injustice. Then again, our delusional President compared the LGBT movement - those seeking a gay wedding cake in a Christian bakery, a bondage float in a Christmas parade or a same-sex marriage certificate - to the millions who toiled, suffered and died under the auspices of slavery. Unforgivable!

Newsflash, Barry Wrong...homosexuals are not slaves and Jesus didn't stutter or wash the feet of gay prostitutes. He was guided by love but was not without principles. Americans of all sexual orientations absolutely have the right to live the life of their choosing free from violence or unfair treatment: workplace or otherwise. That's tolerance. However, no one is obligated to embrace your sexuality or to make you feel warm and fuzzy about your choices! Believe it or not, Mr. President, a majority of minorities in America are morally opposed to homosexuality and gay marriage, a religious institution defined by Judeo-Christian values and common sense in Western Civilization. (That's also why civil unions, a non-religious recognition, formally exist) Are they bigoted Right Wing extremists too because culture terrorists like yourself want to reinvent the wheel and fit a square peg in a round hole to prove there are no universal norms or ethical boundaries in a "progressive" society? Or perhaps they're just devout believers practicing their faith and protecting the sanctity of family and age-old societal mores; just like your beloved, benevolent Muslim Brotherhood but without the swords, hatred, blood and black flag of Islamic fascism. Tolerance is a two way street, Thank God, but that does not excuse us from differentiating between what is right and what is wrong.

Very clear response! Sad that Gov. Pence and party did not just stick to the real meaning of the law and avoid all the front page news hopefuls who wanted to trip him.

Another great post!

Forcing Christians to participate in gay sexual ceremonies/activities is rape.

We should repeat “rape” in every other sentence when we discuss this issue. And, Christians should be filing sexual harassment suits against the gay lobby.

Warning: Islam is coming. They will use any of these laws against Christians.

Thank you again and I agree. His defense has been substandard at best when the justification for the act is mere common sense. It’s frustrating that much of the right is so bad at articulating their positions.

All he had to do was stand strong, frame the issue as Religious Freedom and smack the media. There is nothing more frustrating than losing a battle that could have been won but for bad leaders.

Yep. You have to crush liberal opposition, propaganda, with unflinching perspective and cutthroat common sense.

“... not that LGBT activists are purposely trying to entrap Christian businesses into being sued and losing their livelihoods ...”

BUT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

In the city where I live, we had a couple who were in wheel chairs who took it upon themselves to visit every restaurant in town .. just to see if they had complied with the Disabilities Act. However, after so many of these ended up in court, the law began to investigate.

Granted, it was the law that you had to provide wheelchair access .. and if you happened to go to a place that didn’t, you can inform the owner that he needs to comply. But, these people did no such thing. They simply went there to spy on the businesses and when they found one that had not complied, they would sue them.

They were raking in the money like gang busters. However, finally one restaurant counter-sued and that’s when all the information became public .. and their little game was over.

I have no doubt that this is the same game that is being played on Christian businesses.

What I want to know is when are people going to stick together and stand up to this tyranny ..????????????

Sounds like what Getty Images and other assorted deadbeats from the same familu tree are doing. Suing the crap out of people for using their images AFTER distributing them all over the Internet as bait for people to use. I spoke to someone that beat one of their lawsuits after an attoerney found out their m.o. and that they had teams of people looking for violators then sent them demand letters or emails demanding that they pay so many thousand to use the images. They didn’t really tell them to cease and desist the images, just pay up which should tell you what you need to know. The guy that beat them found out that they had NO RIGHTS on the image they filed aginst him for and that the photo was taken by a professional photographer in Australia who had no idea they were claiming the rights! Talk about a shakedown!

This is the dialectic in action. As time passes the definition of what constitutes "moderation" grows more and more rapidly Left. What was the norm ten years ago was "controversial" five years ago and is now absolutely unthinkable.

We cannot give in to this, people. This is an attempt to force people to commit sins and bring on Divine punishment, just as the Moabite women who seduced the men of Israel.

Time to tell the world: "religion" isn't ethno-cultural folklore and it doesn't "evolve." "Religion" represents absolute reality and the only legitimate concepts of morality and ethnics (which non-theists have no business talking about, much less defining).

Moslems believe their "sharia" represents the law of G-d, just as Jews and chrstians believe their own codes represent the law of G-d. Much better to be ruled by pseudo-theocratic moslems than by insane atheocrats who have no legitimate reason to believe that anything whatsoever is right or wrong.
