Sue, my dear, you are in for a rough ride. Let me tell you about a lady named Lucy Flucker. No laughter at her last name, please. She was the daughter of confirmed Tories in Boston in the mid 1700's, and she fell in love with a bookseller and gang fighter named Henry Knox. Now, Henry, he had these funny ideas about liberty and American independence and a friendship with a strange Virginian feller named George Washington. Lucy's parents fled Boston when the rebels besieged the place. She stayed with her love and together they started the greatest nation on the face of the planet.

I hope your daughter dreams big, Sue. And if you boarded a ship for elsewhere and just let us rebuild the country, we'd all be happier.
