Liberal Bull. It is culture that matters to getting ahead in America, not race, and not racism.
Blacks get off the boat everyday in America from the Caribbean and Africa, and do just fine - better than Mexicans on average. They achieve this performance, despite being typically “blacker” than the typically mixed race “black” whose family has been here since slavery.
Integrating into a more successful culture is adopting better practices - education, ambition, work ethics, etc. The alienation from such cultural best practices is why the African American underclass under performs the average - high crime rates, low educational achievement, broken families, etc.
The people getting off the boat from Africa tend to be the best and brightest. You can’t immigrate legally to the US without means of support or a student visa. In Africa, that basically means the elite, ie not a representative sample.
Its all about attude—Blacks from jamaica do not have the Chip on the sholder of American Blacks—they do not have the hate, anti-white Racism and the world owes me a living idea. Jamaica treated blacks horrible—the old south would have been a heaven to them. Don’t live in the past.
Yep- my sister works with nurses who came here legally from Nigeria, who jumped all the hoops and paid the expenses to get naturalized. She likes them, saying they are well educated and highly professional, are not politically correct, are religiously conservative, and as it happens they are just as irritated with illegals and liberal race-baiting as everyone else.
