A letter sent to the White House has tested positive for cyanide. The Secret Service, to make certain, has sent the letter out again to confirm that it indeed has come in contact with the deadly poison.
The letter was received Monday at the White House Mail Screening Center and chemical testing today showed that it contained cyanide.
This is a breaking news story and we'll update as more information becomes available.

Well crap!! Been eating raw almonds for years. Never ever had a problem. No drain bamage either! :)

Furthermore, how politically ignorant one has to be to believe that anyone there wants to read random letters? There are grounds to suspicion that those people can't even read. They only know how to use a telephone, and some flunkies of lower level know how to write the edicts down. What else is the administration doing nowadays?

If you have been eating raw almonds, and they have not been processed then they are sweet almonds. In the United States raw bitter almonds are required to be heat processed. I don’t think you need to “cook” them but you have to heat them. Otherwise a few handfuls of raw bitter almonds could kill you.
If you really want to die fast, then eat raw castor beans. They contain ricin.
