So - My beautiful (10 year old) BMW was just totalled by a young woman who ran a red and hit me. Totalled her car too. We both were fine. BUT .. when the ambulance came, they wanted to take my vitals and make sure I was ok. "What city are we in?" "Pasadena," I said. "Who is President," they asked me. "He who shall not be named," I laughed. "You don't like him?" NO WAY, I answered.
Dang,
I need to get out moreoften!
Yes, I thought there might be more. Thanks for the info.
Voldemort?
At least you’re both OK.
A 5 year old w/50K miles should be fine (check the maintenance records). Around 100K miles my BMW started to need replacement parts: alternator, fuel pump, etc. Brake pads and drums need replacement every 40K or so. It really depends on your driving style and city vs. highway driving. I am still driving on my original clutch after 140K, but I do a lot of highway driving. If you are good with a wrench, the cost is considerably less. These cars are complicated and not easily maintained by an amateur, but I have found a great mechanic (not with a dealer) who does great work at a reasonable price. I save my BMW for the weekends. They really are the “Ultimate driving machine” in my opinion, and definitely worth the cost.
I love my X3. Jealous?
On a darker note (no pun intended) from a later post:

Rearrange all the letters of "President Barack Obama" just so and you can get a perfect anagram using all 20 characters with none left over.
You know what it says?
An Arab-backed imposter.
No, no, I think it was Ford who was president when that happened.
Nah. Seems like you found the perfect complement to your personality.
psssst cheap way to live wherever you want. On a boat.
I’m an ER doc.
We got a trauma patient in who had a head injury and couldn’t talk.
So I said “ hold up any two fingers”.
He held up 1 on each hand....
Now you can use that great health care. /sarcasm
Toward the end of their rule, as the desecrations proceed, an insolent king will arise, proficient at deception. Mighty will be his skills, but not from his own abilities. Hell be remarkably destructive, will succeed, and will do whatever he wants, destroying mighty men and the holy people. Through his skill hell cause deceit to prosper under his leadership. Hell promote himself and will destroy many while they are secure. Hell take a stand against the Prince of Princes, yet hell be crushed without human help.
let them figure that one out

LOL, that’s very interesting, I guess he was an independent thinker regardless of his injury.
I am ok. My airbags deployed, but they were little - shoulder high, only about 2.5 feet across. The fireman was surprised when I said “He who shall not be named” - like maybe he’d never met anyone who didn’t like Obama. He said, ‘Oh, you don’t like him?”
BMW has maybe 120K miles on it and it has been a wonderful car, has not cost much in repairs but a bit more in speeding tickets. Drives like Indy 500. I’d post a pix but THAT i cannot figure out how to do.
The snarky CA comments I am going to attribute to jealousy - it was 74 out, sunny, beautiful. Everyone was really nice.
Thanks for all the sweet comments. I am happy to be alive and uninjured this morning, tho - I could be seeing this beautiful day from a hospital bed or a wheel chair, but instead I slept well and am off to work. AND we’ll get a new beater out of this, so all is well.
Interesting. I told my husband tho, I had to think a minute who was president. Started with Clinton in my mind - nope, not him. Who was next? Oh and then I remembered, arrrrgggh! All that adrenaline ... I was telling jokes right and left.
