Wanted: An Internet to call our own

All things pass, but the Selfies of the rich and powerful are forever.

“Stop thief!” can be heard daily on the street corners of the world when vulnerable old ladies and others are being relieved of their grocery money and identification by purse snatching, knockout-practicing thugs.

“Stop, thief!” should be the universal alarm for this Thursday when, in daylight, Barack Obama boldly makes away with the Internet.

By Friday, the Worldwide Web, intended to belong to all, forever more will be known as ‘ObamaNet’.

Obama did not create the Internet, the idea originated with the U.S. military. The Internet, the main means of communication for the masses, was not Obama’s to steal.

Even Communist China, which jails bloggers accused of writing against the state, couldn’t be more audacious.

Welcome to 1984, welcome to internet socialism, and the death of the internet as we know it. Through repressive taxation (because that is ultimately what this is all about), the internet will go the way of the post office, magazine subscription, and the mail order catalog.

On an up note, BBS numbers will be popular again, assuming that you grasp the concept of dialing a phone number from memory.

I can’t see anything good from anything coming from this “net neutrality” We can only hope this will backfire right in the faces of those who came up with this stupidity. I hope it burns them good.

You’ll say “no” if we let you say no.

I am listening to Rush just now and still don’t know all the machinations of how this will transpire.

* what is the forthcoming vote - is it the House or Senate?

* what is the likely outcome? are they listening to Cruz or is McConnel and Boehner caving on this?

* are there other conservatives who have been fooled in the house and senate?

* is this an executive order kind of potential?

Neither. It's FCC.

THREE people (out of five) on the FCC get to change the internet for 300 million people.

Democracy at work...

(and if Congress lets this happen, then vote them all out of office.)

So that means we need a miracle as the one person in the FCC who is conservative is one vote, and this unelected cabal is just an extension of executive order...

Power in numbers - I suggest we notify our current internet carrier to advise them that if this happens, we will cancel internet service. If enough people do this, the lobbyists (who have more access/$) will pressure the government to give it up.

The fact that the FCC is unwilling to make the 330+-pages of regs public before they go into effect is all that you really need to know about this. They are obviously up to no good, but we at FR are well aware of this already.

It's a done deal. The ISPs want this. The Regime wants this. They have the money and Washington is nothing but a huge whore house populated by the greediest, filfiest types to be found.
