Nope. But then they run the risk of having their federal dollars stop coming back to the state. Which would prompt them to stop sending money (gas tax, etc.) to the fed.

... things might have to unravel a bit before they can get better. Our federal government has grown too powerful and the checks and balances no longer exist.
