=========================================================== Dear Mr. North Mountain
Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the nomination of Loretta Lynch for United States Attorney General. It was good to hear from you and I appreciate the opportunity to learn your views on the issue.
The Attorney General plays an imperative role as the head of the United States Department of Justice and provides legal counsel to the President when required. The office of Attorney General should uphold the laws that compose our judicial system and support those who enforce laws.
As you know, President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch to be Attorney General of the United States on November 8, 2014 to replace Eric Holder. On January 28, 2015, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing where Loretta Lynch was questioned on issues such as the legality of Obama's executive actions, the relationship between law enforcement and communities, and how she will distinguish herself from her predecessor.
Although Mrs. Lynch has a respectable and distinctive career serving as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, many have expressed opposition to her nomination based on her statements supporting the President's executive overreach.
Executive branch nominees must be confirmed by the United States Senate and should her nomination come to the Senate floor for a vote, I will be sure to keep your views in mind. Again, thank you for contacting me. I look forward to hearing from you again soon and invite you to visit my website, www.capito.senate.gov, for further information and to sign up for my e-mail newsletter. It is an honor to serve you.
Sincerely,
Shelley Moore Capito
United States Senator

No ... really?
That’s a lot of words to say nothing.
