Gentlemen: I know the removing the magazine safety improves the trigger pull with the Browning but it’s a great feature to keep.
Back when I deployed a lot with the wife left home with two kids, the Browning was the House Gun. I trained her with it extensively and we kept it on top of the refrigerator, round in the chamber, hammer cocked and magazine out. Safe and inert as an iron, if the kids got a hold of it. My wife kept the magazine on her - all she had to do was insert it and fire. Fast and easy.
The Browning Hi-Power is also the only handgun that I know of where you can chamber a round one-handed by pushing the muzzle against a table or a door frame.
