Former Alaska governor to discuss how women are showing 21st century leadership.
UTPBs John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute is hosting a lecture featuring former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin Feb. 12 at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center.
As part of the Shepperd Distinguished Lecture Series, Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate, will address the topic, Groundbreakers, Mavericks and Trailblazers: How Women are showing 21st Century Leadership.
The lecture is free and open to the public and begins at 7 p.m. The event will be co-moderated by Patrick Canty, publisher of the Odessa American, and Robert Brescia, executive director of the JBS Leadership Institute.
In March 2010, Palin came to Midland to pitch conservative ideology at an event at the Petroleum Club, followed by a presentation the next day at the Commemorative Air Force.
Palin is currently the host of the television show, Amazing America on The Sportsman Channel.
Her lecture will examine and illuminate how women continue to exercise great leadership in action. The discussion will examine characteristics and demands of 21st century leadership and talk about how women are meeting those challenges, according to a press release from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

John McCain Says Sarah Palin Would “Do Great” As A Presidential Candidate

John McCain believes Sarah Palin would be very viable as a presidential candidate for 2016. When asked the question this week by the Washington Post, the Arizona Senator replied,
“Shes very interesting. And Im sure shed do great.”
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
McInsane’s endorsement would be awkward, but Sarah, as always, is graceful and grateful.
Palin has always said she would join the race for the presidency only if there were no other real conservatives already running.
I have no reason to think she’s any different from the Sarah Palin of 2008. If this is right, a Ted Cruz candidacy would influence her not to run.
Perhaps. A Palin candidacy could influence Ted Cruz not to run as well. Of the two, Sarah Palin is far more qualified.
Sarah Palin would make a great cabinet secretary. EPA comes to mind. She would make their heads explode.
CSD2ASA
Starting with the 4 letter ones....BATF.....
That’s what I said. She would be great.
I wouldn’t imagine I’d get anywhere close to her, since it’s being held in a rather large theatre and there will be lots of fans there!
But it would be nice to listen to her. Hope I can make it. I really need to find someone to go with me. :)
Sarah Palin would be great in anything she decides to do. Greatness in cabinet posts depends on a great leader in the white house. The whole system of government needs reforming and downsizing. We need a president that believes wholeheartedly in doing just that. I can’t think of a single potential candidate that believes in that more than Palin.
Love to see the POTUS give her the Authority to:
* Combine EPA, Interior, Bureau of Land Mgt and Dept of Energy
* Call the new Dept. The Department of Natural Resource Utilization
* Hire the Rand Corp to devise and then execute a 50% Staff reduction at minimum, especially the now redundant Mgt. Staff after merging
* Have her order this new department to cease and desist all current regulation writing and require all personnel to review 20 years of past regulation for redundancy and cost effectiveness, possibly get the Rand Corp to assist here as well.
* If it doesn't meet cost effective analysis it is to be discarded.
* Said Dept has to adopt all tools that engineering firms utilize to maintain their competitive edge, Kaizen Events, Tagguci, Demming Quality Circles, etc etc.
I absolutely adore Sarah and believe she would be a great President in a Reaganesque manner.
That said, her recent Iowa speech was not her best.
Her opening 10 minutes or so was rambling comments on her “TMZ-like” events including.
I’d prefer to see her speeches spend a couple of intro minutes thanking locals and then get into the meat of her speech. Avoiding any “TMZ-like” events would make her a more serious candidate.
The most powerful speeches at the Iowa event were by Newt and Cruz that adhered to the structure I mentioned above.
I’d also like to see her follow Cruz’ re: absolutely no amnesty under any brand name. In addition, he stated ALL applying for work visas, citizenship MUST do so from their home country - not from inside America as an ILLEGAL.

Knowing McCain, I would say that was a backhanded compliment...
I'm sure that senile old goat blames Palin for his 2008 lost POTUS run...though he is smart enough never to publicly say so...
