A black conservative is unelectable in this country. I think the blacks would block-vote against him.

So if Cruz is the nominee you won’t vote for him?

Not if there's an R next his name. Just not going to be voting GOP in 2016. I'm not going to support the party of traitorous, backstabbing ingrates. I'm done holding my nose.

You forgot the broad. And I don’t mean Bachmann.

Palinistas to arrive in 5, 4, 3 .... to rip you a new one for forgetting Sarah.

Pretty good list so far. But it is way too early. Still don't know everyone’s position on all issues. The debates will give us a better picture. That being said, my top four right now are Cruz, Jindal, Rubio, and Walker.

Ted Cruz is #1 in my book.

I’m voting for him .. I sure hope he’s planning on being on the primary ballot; otherwise I’ll have to write in his name.

4- Rick Perry - there are three reasons I’m not a fan. Commerce, Education, and I’ve forgotten the third one.

LOL! Yes, the ability to think on your feet is indispensable. Possibly lifelong mental damage from his days as a Democrat.

The herpes child vaccine mandate that he made, and was repudiated, is still a bad taste in my mouth as far as Perry is concerned. That, and his backing down from the sodomites on his comparison with alcoholism last year.

“A black conservative is unelectable in this country. I think the blacks would block-vote against him.”

They are pretty much in block-vote against any Republican. I think he could peel off another percent or two.

Nobody has mentioned the elephant (no pun intended) in the room - Sarah Palin. Only Ted Cruz is somewhere near her league.

Hockey analogy: Sarah Palin is an NHL all star; Ted Cruz is an AHL callup.

1- Mike Pence or Jim DeMint - they seem to be the real deal on conservatism

2- Bobby Jindal - ditto. Plus, he’s fearless about saing so.

3- Rick Perry - he’s made some serious mistakes, but has impressed me with his standing up to the feral government. I think he’s still growing as a conservative. He has extensive credentials as a long-term governor of a major state.

4- Rick Santorum - I know, not charismatic enough, according to some. But he did impressively well in 2012 and was just the victim of GOPe shenanigans at the last. He has name recognition, is very conservative (despite the naysayers around here), and has demonstrated his uncompromising stance against the homo-fascists (very important.)

The others are fatally flawed. Love Cruz as my senator, but his questionable eligibility would eventually weigh him down like an albatross, rightly or not. Paul is almost as whacky as his Liberaltarian father, and is a turncoat on many issues. The office of POTUS is no place for a woman, so Bachmann is out. (Yes, men and women ARE different - deal with it!). Walker and Rubio are amnesty whores, and Walker’s capitulation on marriage in his state is unconscionable,

Carson and West are just novices. Carson has made some shockingly anti-2nd Amendment statements. Even West seems to waffle on some issues.

I’d trust West in POTUS any day of the week...but I’d take him as VP or Scty of Defense. He needs to be in there, he knows what is right for the country and the establishment doesn’t like him for speaking truth.

Rubio is done even before he starts. Gang of 8...blew his trust...he’s a Good ol’ Chamber Boehner boy.

2, 3, 7 would not get as many Electoral votes as McCain.

2 lost his elective seat.

3 has never had an elective seat.

7 recall that Chris Wallace was sort of correct when he asked her about being ‘flakey’.

==

Do Republicans want to win or will they settle for feelgoodism also-rans as the Dems take the trophy?

==

1, 6 and 8 might have a good chance, if they can win the primary by conservatives uniting behind ONE instead of splitting the conservative vote 3 to 6 ways.

4, 9, and 10 are longshots who only stand a chance if the Dem nominee stumbles badly.

I disagree only with the order, unless you were going in no particular order.

You CAN'T trust them. 2014 has demonstrated that quite clearly.

2014 told us the R's don't want to win, and will do everything in their power to bow to Obola. No thanks. If you vote R at this point, you're only pushing the party further left. I won't be a party to that. I've done enough damage holding my nose and voting for them in the past. No more.
