Falls overshadow all other perils seniors face that are lifestyle related. Diet, exercise, blood pressure and cholesterol issues. None of these are meaningful when compared to falls. Even seniors in their 60’s should consider giving up stepladders, gutter cleaning, tree trimming, etc. And, move around the world like their life depended upon getting a firm footing and avoiding obstacles.
Sorry for the uncle. The fall is the last event for about 1 in 4 seniors.
Praying for your uncle, your family, and you. May you all know that the Lord is taking good care of you now and will do so forever.

#43 has the right attitude. Sometimes doctors are a little too quick to give up on older people. The outcome of brain injuries is often related to the pressure buildup and sometimes something can be done about this.

I will second this. as a nurse, I’d even move that age to about 50. I have seen terrible outcomes from folks just simply falling down flights of stairs as well as off ladders from painting and other household chores. You really have to look at your home environment and weed out the dangers — loose rugs, low lighting, loose stair rails, etc .... Watch stairs, especially .... Don’t try to go down the, carrying too much, etc.
And keeping fit gets all the more important — if you have strong quads, your knees are stronger ....etc, etc.

As to your uncle, all these things can be overcome. I fell 2 yrs ago, cracked my head and broke my wrist. I am 74 and recovered, with God’s grace. My body weakens as my spirit soars.
My daughter has returned to MD with her 3 yr old. She worked hard to get Hogan elected and hopes to serve in his administration. MD can return from its Marxist plague.
