Here in Texas, people ask me all the time to get things off the top shelf. No matter what shirt I have on.

I am grateful to God I am able-bodied and can help.

I am always glad to help. It’s called being neighborly.

I’ve had people ask me to get items off high shelves a fair number of times. Always thought it was because I could reach the items and the shorter people asking could not. Maybe taller than average Michelle should also consider that possibility, rather than looking for racism under every bush and rock.

Something I noticed is that opening a door and allowing the person behind you enter the store first seems to be an American thing. I was in Saigon not long ago and opened the door for the elderly woman behind me and she hestitated to go inside almost as if she wondered why I wanted her to go in first. Then her son or grandson appeared to explain what I was doing and then she turned to me hands clasped together and smiled appreciatively. Same thing happened again at another store with an elderly gentleman. When he realised what I was doing he smiled and said in very broken english “Oh, you American. Thank you!”

There have been several occasions that I've been shopping at variety of stores in which a customer has approached me for assistance locating merchandise, so if I was approached in similar manner by michelle, I doubt that I would have any reservations about telling her where to go.

Michelle thought Target was being racist when they offered her a real job where she actually had to be physically in the store doing actual work. This is opposed to the no-show ‘rainmaker’ job she had with law firm and the Chicago medical center that saw her go from $100,000 to $300,000 salary in little over a year. Was it because she was that good? NO. Was it because her husband was favorably connected to the Democrat political machine in the legislature, YES. Sorry Target, but you just cannot compete against good old Chicago business as usual. No, there no racism about it because it's just IL politics.

a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf.

Is it now racist to ask a tall person to take something off a shelf?

so big deal. She was asked to help a short person get something off a shelf (I’ve asked people to help me, and also been asked by others to do the same thing.)

What is surprising is that Michelle was in Target. ???? you mean she was rubbing shoulders with the common folk?

But then she noted it was a political stop, not a visit to buy stuff. Figures.

" I don’t react negatively, likely they saw me as a nice guy."

But how were you able to continue on with your life, given the vicious, racist attack you had suffered? :)

And someone just lost a job for telling her daughters to dress for success...

How is it racist to assume that a Black person might be employed? It seems to me she is making sure that Black women know that it is demeaning to work at K-Mart and ensuring that they stay in the hideous condition the liberals have led them into.

Asked once? Hell, I’ve been asked more times than that just this week! Racist? HELL NO! Just someone looking for a store employee to help them with something.

Good people in America have a tradition of helping others, without question.

If blacks are gonna call every minor interaction with whites an example of racism, then whites are justified in having as little interaction with blacks as possible.

If you as a group persist in calling me names, treating me as evil, then I will shun you. I will not speak to you or even acknowledge your presence. I wouldn’t give Sharpton, Jackson, & Moochelle the time of day.

Words & actions have consequences.

Blacks are the biggest racists in America.
