St. Louis Police Officers Association condemns Rams’ Ferguson gesture

Before Sunday’s game against the Raiders, several Rams players raised their hands in reference to the still-lingering controversy that originated Ferguson, Missouri regarding the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

After Sunday’s game, the St. Louis Police Officers Assocation condemned the gesture.

“The St. Louis Police Officers Association is profoundly disappointed with the members of the St. Louis Rams football team who chose to ignore the mountains of evidence released from the St. Louis County Grand Jury this week and engage in a display that police officers around the nation found tasteless, offensive and inflammatory,” the SLPOA said, via KSDK.com.

The full text of the statement can be seen here.

“All week long, the Rams and the NFL were on the phone with the St. Louis Police Department asking for assurances that the players and the fans would be kept safe from the violent protesters who had rioted, looted, and burned buildings in Ferguson,” SLPOA Business Manager Jeff Roorda said, via KSDK.com....

Sorry, I haven’t seen any pictures of the Rams’ entrance onto the field. How many players constitutes “several”? Was it really just a few of them or were many of the players involved?

Thanks. In that case, the word “several” isn’t being used as a euphemism for “many” or “most”. Fair enough.

Those Rams players were just doing a public service demonstrating the proper way to respond to a police officer under the circumstances Mike Brown found himself in.

If Brown had only put his hands up and yelled “don’t shoot!” he’d still be alive today.

It was more than 1. The players injected the nfl into this on the side of anarchy and murder. Screw the nfl.

Ironically the dead guy was bigger then the players.

I think that the only way for this “Hands up, don’t shoot” meme to be put to sleep is for that accomplice of Brown’s, who started it, to be indicted and put on trial for incitement and perjury. Not enough people know that he was already accused of making false statements to police, or that he changed his story multiple times.

But that won’t happen. So the only thing we can do is adopt “hands up, don’t shoot” as our own, as the example of what Brown should have done and would still be alive today had he done so.

These two graphics tell the story.

the nfl is getting as bad as the nba

They're both populated mostly by teams that are toys for white billionaires. They've pandered to the black privilege of millionaires who mostly didn't get to where they are by intelligence or social responsibility. Both organizations are pandering to bullying elitist black superiority mentality. Those billionaires don't realize they've let it go too far until it's too late to turn things around.

These five players should be suspended. That was a political statement that could only serve to further inflame passions in St Louis. A proper message at the beginning of the game would've been one urging peace and cooperation. The NFL is too far gone down the road of political correctness to do what's right.

I've thought about it. I'm wondering how you save those two sports after all of their pandering to thugs.

Blacks make up around 13% of the population but 90% of the nfl and 99% of the nba.

Not for nothing but, the police officer associations for the most part abandoned Officer Wilson. At least in NYC when an officer is involved in a controversial incident the PBA comes out in force to defend him and have their voices heard. Good luck to Officer Wilson, he will probably take some time off and maybe he’ll resume his career in another jurisdiction as a valued officer.

I'd be surprised if the NFL and NBA percentages are that high. Whether they are or not, the problem is rich white owners investing in merchandise (players) at an extraordinary price, and expecting to make a profit. So they're pandering to the over-indulged players and the black thug culture. What's happened in the NBA and NFL is now the thug culture wants to run things and set the tone. If I were an owner, I'd dump that endeavor and buy an island or maybe invest in deep space travel or whatever. Is it really worth the hassle and risk of loss of reputation?

That's the only thing that stops our thug dominated culture. Stop spending anything on it.

“Blacks make up around 13% of the population but 90% of the nfl and 99% of the nba.”

You shouldn’t just make stuff up and state it as a fact.

My estimate for the NFL may be a bit high but not too much. Take a look at the teams these days. They used to post team pictures but I can't find any with the whole team. If these players were all white you can bet All or Jesse would be up in arms.

Buccaneers -
