The Obama Administration Does Make Ransom Payments

In a letter sent this month to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, House Armed Services Committee Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) noted that Joint Special Operations Command delivered a ransom payment for the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. He wrote “Given the significance of this matter, as well as the fact that Pentagon officials have denied that a payment was even considered — and you also said you were unaware of any such attempt — I ask you to immediately inquire with JSOC to determine the specific order of events.” (2)

The money was delivered to a phony “intermediary” who claimed to represent the Haqqanis terrorists holding Bergdahl. The Pentagon was duped in a deal that was most likely set up by a State Department flunky. All this effort for a man who, according to his fellow soldiers, walked away from his post and deserted.

Rep. Hunter also inquired if ransom payments are being considered for other captives of terrorist organizations. This contradicts America’s longstanding policy of refusing to pay ransom to terrorists.

The Pentagon denies

The Pentagon denied last Thursday that a ransom was paid for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Pentagon press Secretary Adm. John Kirby insists that “There was no ransom offered, there was no ransom paid – nor was there an attempt to do so that failed.” (4) He did admit that he wasn’t aware that any money changed hands in the effort to recover Bergdahl. However the Pentagon is trying to spin the payment was not a ransom but a payment for intelligence that lead to the release of Bergdahl.

And whatever happened to the Army’s investigative report into the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl’s disappearance and subsequent “capture” by the Taliban? I thought the results were delayed until after the election but that was weeks ago.

Where is that report on Bergdahl. Is it waiting until after the next election?

Yep. The military “lost” weapons, armored vehicles and night vision equipment in BENGHAZI after the CIA employees were released. Nobody loses stuff like that without a court martial. There hasn’t been one.
Hillary Clinton and the State Department also “lost about $6,000,000,000 around that time. That’s why those CIA employees can’t talk to anyone. Obama surrendered at BENGHAZI and then paid off the enemy.
