A lot of what you say is correct but there are plenty of FR consensus attitudes that are simply wrong. For instance common sense does work in the inner city even if it needs to be imposed before the people get it.

Detroit emergency Manager Kevin Orr appointed police chief James Craig and Craig has driven astounding change in the 18 months he's been there. He promotes gun ownership as a primary crime prevention method. He tells the truth about the fact that police can prevent only a tiny fraction of crimes. He's cut response times from over an hour to under 15 minutes. The result is that the murder rate has dropped to a 20 year low when it was at an all time high as recently as 2008 (down 13% from last year.) Things like carjackings are down nearly 30% from last year. The people went from cursing their cops 18 months ago to literally standing around and applauding when they shut down a drug house.

The people also seem to have the sense to shop around for better schools now as well.

I’ve been saying that as Detroit was the first city to hit rock-bottom, they will also be the first city to be renewed. The other cities are going to go through the same cycle, so Detroit is now ahead of the curve.

Those Chinese buying properties there might wind up making a killing in the end.

Maybe I didn't write as clearly as I thought. I was talking about the average black youth. I know for a fact that there are blacks that qualified for anything. There are black cops in Ferguson, just not that many. I would be perfectly satisfied with Allen West as POTUS, for instance. I voted for Allen Keyes for POTUS way back when. I'm sure now that Detroit is a low as it can go, now they put in some conservatives with common sense to try to save the day. Ferguson is as we speak starting to realize that they have no jobs now and their boss may not reopen. They will realize that the cop cars that burned will be paid for by them or they won't have them now. If Sharpton and his ilk would have just stayed home, it would be over now and they could salvage a decent Christmas out of this. When all liberal things have been tried, they will eventually find out what I knew in the 6th grade.

My post was about the average nondescript black person in Ferguson. Even if 60% of the people are black, they can't even scrape up 10% with a GED and a clean record that wants to be a cop.
