In fairness to the public sector column, government is always coming up with innovative ways to confiscate our money.
This is somewhat selective. For private sector aviation, we could have had “THEN” represented by the Concorde. “NOW”, no true successor.
I would have to disagree.
The federal government has become highly innovative in racking up debt.
I would take exception to the Concorde being private sector, as it was HEAVILY funded by Great Britain and France. It is more like the Space Shuttle than a 747.
And where is the comparison of public to private sector organized crime?
The only reason the Concorde didn’t evolve was government (and activist) intervention. Allowed to evolve, airliners would all be flying the Atlantic in 3 hours today. BTW- there will be a corporate (private sector) supersonic jet within 3 years.
Well done.
Hey! the old school bus was much less expensive.
Didn’t have mirrors, flashing lights and TV cameras to monitor passing cars and issue tickets automatically, TV security cameras inside to watch the kids, gate guards swinging out into traffic, flashing strobe lights overhead outside ... air conditioning, heaters, radios, kneeling handicapped access.
