A similar thing happened to me just a few weeks ago but my property is in rural Alabama. The coyote was either brave, stupid or rabid, I did not know, but he would not leave. My female GSD, who is on a cable run, was going nuts. I shot him and thru his carcass into the woods. It was gone the next day.

Hadn't seen a coyote since, though I hear them yipping sometimes at night. I did hear some loud howls and noises last night—though it sounded weird. Then all the rain started.

The night one followed me home Mr GG2 went out on the deck with our dying rabbit call and tried to get it up close enough to shoot it. We could hear it moving around behind the woodpile but it would not come out where he could get q shot at it. They are very wary.
