White Hispanics, descendants of Spanish and Portuguese invaders, are some of the most prejudice people in Latin America, including Mexico.
These white Hispanics hold most of the political power and most of the money.
If you are black or Indian, your chances of moving up the social ladder in Latin America are not very good.
For instance, black Cubans were very happy to see all those white Cubans leave for Florida after Castro took power, because they hoped that with all those white Cubans leaving, they would not be subject to the terrible prejudice they received before white Cubans left Cuba, and more opportunities would be available to them.
And so what do the non-white Hispanics do if they have no opportunities in their home country in Latin America?
Why, they travel to the land of opportunity and equal justice:The United States of America!
