Keystone Killed

Desperate Sen. Mary Landrieu loses the vote, and likely her Senate seat as well.

The ongoing theatrics surrounding the Keystone XL pipeline continued in earnest Tuesday. Desperate Democrat incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) spent the afternoon trying to secure the critical 60th vote necessary for the filibuster-proof majority that would get the legislation through the Senate and onto Obama’s desk, while her fellow Democrats weighed the pros and cons of alienating their radical environmentalist constituency. Democrats chose to stand with the radicals, defeating the bill by a 59-41 vote.

By the middle of the afternoon, Landrieu’s chances of winning over one more Democrat looked increasingly slim. Every one of the Senate’s 45 Republicans were on board, but Democrat support that included those who cosponsored Landrieu’s bill, as well as those who had publicly voiced their commitment to its passage, brought the overall total to 59 votes. On Monday, two Senators Landrieu thought she might flip, Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Carl Levin (D-MI), both reaffirmed their intention to vote against the project. They were joined Tuesday by Sen. Angus King (I-ME). “Congress is not--nor should it be--in the business of legislating the approval or disapproval of a construction project,” he said in a news release.

It’s interesting that every news clip I’ve seen on this story showed new Dem “superstar” Fauxcahontas announcing the final tally. Watch out Hillary....

They were joined Tuesday by Sen. Angus King (I-ME). “Congress is not--nor should it be--in the business of legislating the approval or disapproval of a construction project,” he said in a news release.

Then he should have voted "present" or not voted, rather than voting down the bill. His action disapproved of the construction project.

His statement is a cop out an a lousy one. What does he think he’s doing when he approves the highway appropriations budget? This clown probably also thinks FDR’s WPA was a brilliant plan.

The Democrats won’t go against Warren Buffet to save thousands of jobs. Why would they do it to save one job?

Dingy Harry stabbed her in the back.

The only reason he even allowed the vote was to give Democrats endangered in two years like Michael Bennet a chance to cast a yes vote. Then he personally killed it.

I agree, construction should proceed whether congress likes it or not.

Looking at Landrieu I keep hearing that stanza from "The Highwayman:"

"His eyes were hollows of madness; his hair like moldy hay..."

Can this be resubmitted and only need 51 votes? Or are we so close to January as to make it unnecessary.

This is just another example of the two critical ways we need to look at anything liberals are involved in:

1. Cui Bono, or who benefits, when bs surrounds and covers up or shrouds their overt or covert actions with any activity with libs in control of where money and power can be gained.

2. Follow the money after #1.

The answer to who benefits when the Keystone pipeline is killed/stalled is simple.

Warren Buffets owns/controls most of the railroad old tank cars and the railroad which bring the oil from Canada to US refineries.

How many of the Rat $inators get a lot of money now and in IOUs from Buffet to keep Keystone dead?

What do train whistles and Warren Buffett have in common?

If you answered old-fashioned charm, you’re wrong.

The Sightline Institute, a Seattle-based think tank, calls the avuncular billionaire “the man behind the exploding trains.”

Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns Union Tank Car Company, North America’s largest leaser of tank cars. Berkshire also owns BNSF Railway Company, which moves many of those cars.

Again the rat’s MSM has hidden this important fact from us.
