There would be a 60 vote majority already if the GOPe had not sandbagged and backstabbed authentic conservative candidates in the last few election cycles.

Look for the GOPe to try the same thing to Ted Cruz.

67 votes are a super majority and is what will be needed to over ride a veto.


According to the article the bill passed the house 252-161. That’s only 61% so it does not matter what happens in the Senate.

The interesting thing is who votes with the Republicans when this comes up next year. IIRC, although the the Pubbies have to defend 20+ seats, about 5 or 6 of the RATS up for election are in states that voted Republican in 2012. It will also be interesting to see how the Republican squishes like Mark Kirk of IL, Susan Collins, and good-ol Goober Graham from SC vote.
