Youtube ^
Posted on 11/16/2014 5:30:20 PM PST by Enlightened1
This video allows you to test yourself to see if you like 440 Hz or 432 Hz better. You won't know which sample is which. Listen to each and see if you like one better than the other or if one feels better to you than the other and draw your own conclusions.

Put on headphones. Surprised that I preferred 440 Hz versions.

There is a comment in the comment section which explains why this test is bogus. I chose 440 personally, but the samples weren’t honest ones.

Throw out 2 since they were both the same.
I picked 440 on 1, 432 on 3, and 440 on 4.
Whatever that means.
I’m a musician, btw.

It was AAAA for me with suspicions about #3 being odd, not #2.

432 for anything acoustic, but electric guitars sing to me at 440. Don’t sound right at 432. Sound “muddy”.

Typo on Case 2 at the end it lists both samples as the same. Not a typo, the end of the video explains it was done that way on purpose. Both samples on case 2 were 440.

On Cases 1, 3, and 4 I picked the 440 sample.
On Case 2 I thought Sample A was nicer...apparently it was just the key/octave.

My picks were all 440. My hearing isn’t the best though

The comments are confusing.
After going through the entire video again (and seeing the note at the end), Case 2 had to be in different keys (or fretted up or something like that). Is that fair? Or was it to make the point that most people think of “lower” as “warmer?”
But in the comments, people were saying the OP stated all the samples were in different keys. I found no such statement. Maybe the statement was at 432 Hz and above my hearing and reading capabilities?
