CNN's Washington bureau is suffering from low morale and high anxiety in the wake of weeks of layoffs and buyouts — with one employee likening the place to the Redskins’ locker room.
In conversations with POLITICO, sources at the bureau spoke of tension in the office as several longtime staffers have been let go while others are being promoted and given raises. On Friday, during the most recent departures, "people were crying all over the bureau," one D.C. employee said.

Management does the hiring and firing. When ratings crashed, management should have fired whole departments and started over with an emphasis on genuine balance and investigative fairness, and liberal Democrats be damned if they didn’t like the results. Ultimately, I blame tone deaf, or unconscionably ignorant, management.

Management is part if the problem, along with the board of directors and all of upper management. Those who are now losing their cushy jobs were confident that those who hired them and guided their agenda were correct with their agenda and were more than happy to “report” as they were directed to, and more or less to the point, “report” as they were “hired” to.
This is a mindset and philosophy that is heading towards bankruptcy, IMO.
