Former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan doesn’t pop up on cable news much these days, but he did get a platform to discuss his thoughts about yesterday’s midterms on Newsmax Wednesday. And when it came to Senator-elect Joni Ernst in Iowa, Buchanan couldn’t say enough about her “attractiveness.”
Buchanan began by calling Ernst and “enormously attractive figure” and “a gal with a real sense of humor and a fighting spirit.” He added that she “has the same kind of attractiveness that Sarah Palin had at the start and that Michele Bachmann gained in the Iowa caucuses, I mean, being a very attractive, outspoken person, a woman in the GOP full of passion and full of hard-core philosophy.”
Just days ago, outgoing Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) got in hot water for implying that Ernst is “as good-looking at Taylor Swift.”
“I was very offended that Senator Harkin would say that,” Ernst told Fox News of Harkin’s comment. “If my name had been John Ernst attached to my resume, Senator Harkin would not have said those things.”
Will she mind being compared to Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann in a similar way by a member of her own party?

That can be a dangerous thing. The establishment does not like attractive young conservative females. It would be smart to watch her step and keep a low profile to begin with unless she is sure she is on firm ground.

True, but Palin Bachmann and Ernst are not equally attractive. The pecking order is Palin, by far - Bachmann second - and Ernst third. Period.

This is such an insult for Ernst who worked really hard and ran a fantastic campaign, but all he can think to do is discuss her appearance.
These old codgers have got to go. They are not helping.
While I like what I’ve seen of Ernst, I really don’t like Buchanan.

If Ernst is a West Point grad that would be awesome! She would no doubt put the Hag and Kati Curic in their place.
