Sometimes “they” just don’t “get it” do they?

I have the same problem with various observers and critics of my memes and graphics sometimes. I work hard to come up with an idea I can convert from words to an image, to be sarcastic or funny or partly true and partly not or subtly jab at a long-held off limits subject, and I get, “Is that how you spell that?” Some people are too right brain or anal and others can see the humor right away. I think it is the “forest for the trees” kind of thing too.

Great job. It’s difficult being so “good” isn’t it? :-)

P.S. Can I ask you a question? Why did you change from the Looking Spoon to CRASHR? Just curious.

If the GOP candidate running for governor had a clue, he would be all over this like flies on dog poop.

California has always had droughts, nothing is new about that.

In order to fight the regular droughts, California built a large reservoir system(40-60 years ago), and as a result had plenty of water to sustain them during drought conditions. This reservoir system would collect runoff from the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and store it for future use. In this way California collected plenty of water to sustain it when drought conditions occurred.

What changed? Environmentalists sued because they claimed that by diverting the runoff to reservoirs they were endangering the Delta Smelt. The courts ruled that they needed to redirect that water from going to the reservoirs, to go to the SF bay instead.

The California drought is a natural occurrence, and nothing out the ordinary, but the lack of water is completely man-made!

Instead, Neil Kashkardashian spends all his ad buys showing kids drowning, allegedly because Jerry Brown hates schools or something.

CLUELESS !!!

Yes, that is until they built a large reservoir and irrigation system.

Once the government diverted the mountain runoff into the SF bay because of the Delta Smelt, instead of using it to fill it's reservoirs, the land is now evolving back into it's natural state - desert.

But......

But...............,.,

WE HAVE BANNED PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS!!!

This should have solved ALL of Cali's problems.

Why isn't it raining?

Maybe the governor and the legislature should finish the high speed rail to nowhere. Surely that will bring precipitation.

"spends all his ad buys showing kids drowning."

The first written part of that ad goes by so quickly that you don't even get that it's about schools until the end. All you see in the beginning is the child drowning-Ughhhhhhh, makes me cringe.

As I recall Kashkari is the Gope's winner of its efforts to crush the Tea Party. Brilliant.

I ended The Looking Spoon at the end of last April. I was finding myself just posting other peoples graphics and creating less of my own. The idea well, frankly, ran dry for me because I grew tired of doing stuff with the shelf life of its news cycle. Also, I felt painted in a corner doing all conservative images all the time, and the pace at which I was blogging was something I no longer felt I could maintain.

In short it felt like the whole thing had run its course.

One of my goal with CRASHR is to do more original graphics that tackle subjects that don’t have the shelf life of the outrage du jour. As such, I’ve been trying to stick to topics on a more ideological and cultural level, and at a pace I can handle.
